“There is a selfish part of me that wants to give a 1 star. I don't want anyone else knowing about this hidden gem of a sophisticated cocktail bar. The drinks were amazing and top notch. The craft applied is by far the best in town. No other places I know of brews tea for a drink, reduces pineapple, and many other micro touches to make a drink. The bar tenders know their craft, they aren't simply following pre-done recipes. They can make you a drink off your request. I would only make two requests to the business, you could turn the lights up a little bit. I leave with the feeling of the strip club scene from Varsity Blues when they hit the daylight. Also, please plan for when this place blows up. I keep hoping BR can finally support a unique, high quality, and niche place like this. Tell the William H. Macy look-a-like to keep on. He was great.“

“My husband and I came down from Illinois to visit relatives and I wanted a daiquiri badly. Saw several reviews about a lady working or worked here that was rude. I wasn't going to stop here but I took a chance. Sage was very nice! He spoke, he was polite and friendly. So glad the customer service is better. Drinks are good, too. It wasn't busy or crowded. I'd definitely recommend!“

“My wife and i were surprised at the relatively dissapointing nightlife in downtown Baton Rouge. As we drove, she searched for a speakeasy. We came upon Hayride Scandal. Parking was easy, as we came upon the location nestled alongside a Hooters. Tall wooden doors open to a very nicely decored bar room. Darkly tone wood accents with bar or lounge seating. We choose the bar, as it is my habit to strike up conversations with the mixologists and learn about the establishment. 5 stars go to Brian, who was willing to engage my questions and then 3 mixology challenges. Classic black & white movies play on monitors over the bar tv. Fellow bar patrons were excellent conversation and an opportunity to wish them a happy birthday. Brian and Hayride Scandal made up for a great Saturday evening. Highly recommend this locale for all!“

“Venture: Very laid-back spot to grab a couple of drinks and vibe to grown folks music. Clean restrooms. There was plenty of seating available, so seating large groups wouldn't be a problem.Cocktails: The cocktails have cute names and signature mixes. Everyone I tried was yummy.Service: The bartender was impeccable: helpful, quick, and courteous. I think her name Chi ChiCon: Patrons have to smoke the hookah outdoors, so I didn't get to try it because the weather was poor.Verdict: I have plans to go to ladies' night.“

“Came in on a Thursday night didn't stay long due to work; club didn't start to sway till about 10pm but it's very nice and all the ladies are lovely and sweet. I will be coming back for another visit, hopefully on a weekend.“

“A little pricey, but good food and portion sizes. The Grits and Grillade platter was filling and flavorful. Bathrooms are decorated with a rural, slapdash decor which was somewhat unsettling. Location of the restaurant is set back from the road in a strip mall so it can be slightly difficult to locate.“
