“We were traveling for work and came through Bunkie at lunchtime and were surprised at the number of good sounding locally owned and operated places to stop. Bunkie actually has a lot and has a cute downtown and busy commercial strip. Mexican sounded good to us so we pulled over. As a frequent diner at small town restaurants, I know to expect a repurposed Pizza Hut which is what I believe this it. The outside is fairly recently painted in eye catching bright colors and in good shape and clean. But the show is inside; the interior is amazingly decorated complete with terra cotta tiled roofs over the booths, hand made and decorated tables and chairs and of course festive wall hangings. If a Mexican restaurant doesn't provide at least this level of decor. I feel they would be slacking and aren't serious about staying in business. We were immediately greeted and seated and promptly our orders were taken. The menu is large and have some pretty standard offerings. We didn't have time to plumb the depths of the menu much more than the lunch specials so we went with those. The Zapota burrito with fajita steak was really good. Will definitely keep this on my list of stops for the future.“
