“True to their sign, they really are the best bloody Mary's you will find anywhere! Felt a little out of place, like the second we walked in you could hear a pin drop as the small crowd of people inside all stared judgmentaly at us. The bar tender however wasn't rude, but also wasn't very hospitable either. If you’re planning to stop by, get there early there’s always a long line, and since everything is fresh, they do sell out! Early on, we faced some communication challenges and were unsure how things would come together. But then everything changed when the venue made some personnel updates and we were introduced to Boyd, our new director. From that moment forward, it was like night and day.

Boyd is, in every sense of the word, phenomenal. Professional, attentive, and genuinely caring, he went above and beyond to make sure our wedding day was everything we dreamed of and more. We have worked with a lot of people in our lives, but we've rarely been so impressed by someone’s level of dedication and calm under pressure. He truly bent over backwards for us — every question was answered, every detail was handled, and every small request was met with a smile and a solution.

On our actual wedding day, I didn’t have to look around, worry, or ask what was next — the Ormand Manor team had it all under control. I felt completely at peace knowing everything was being handled with care and precision. And it wasn’t just Boyd; the entire staff operated like a well-oiled machine, ensuring that every part of the day flowed perfectly.

What really stood out was how they handled the weather. It rained right up until about 30 minutes before our ceremony. Most venues would have defaulted to the backup plan, but Boyd and his team jumped into action the moment the skies cleared. They moved chairs, reset everything, and somehow turned our dream of an outdoor wedding into a beautiful reality — all without missing a beat. Watching them work together so quickly and professionally left us absolutely speechless.

From catering to coordination, every single detail was handled with flexibility, kindness, and a genuine desire to make our day special. They didn’t just meet expectations — they far exceeded them.

We will forever be grateful to Boyd, Vickey, and the entire Ormand Manor staff for giving us a wedding day that felt effortless, elegant, and completely unforgettable. What started off uncertain became one of the most beautifully executed days of our lives, all thanks to this incredible team.

“I do love this place but 😭 randomly getting black olives instead of the usual Kalamata olives in a pick up bowl was… surprising lol. I would have rathered it not been in there. It also seems impossible to get tabbouleh in my bowl. I’ve gotten in maybe once in all of my orders. I’m only leaving 5 stars because I return for the steak. It’s 5 star worthy.”

“Extremely embarrassed to admit that TONIGHT was our very first steak night. The ribeye was delicious, the twice baked potatoes were so freaking goodddd! I missed ordering my usual bang bang shrimp, but to try the steak night meal was worth it. Bread pudding topped it off wonderfully. Both of our kids had grilled cheese sandwiches and darn near licked their plates clean-after eating their meals, half of my steak, and stealing my potatoes. “My family and I absolutely LOVE Ormond Plantation! Between all of us we have tried almost everything on the menu and have always enjoyed it! Of course we all have our favorites! “My discovery of German Coast Beer Company is sort of unique. In 1989 I was introduced to the woman who would become my wife. Months later we started dating and in October of that year she invited me to meet her family at her daddy’s birthday party. One her nephews, Brandon Zeringue, was there. He was seven or eight years old. Two years later he and several other nieces and nephews would be in our wedding. Flash forward to 2024 and Brandon opened this brew pub. So this marriage has worked out really well. Also we have four really good adult children but this isn’t about them. Hear that kids, not everything is about you.”

“Working for an airline I do a lot of traveling, and have been many places. I found this coffee shop through google maps and decided to give it a try. As a former coffee roast-master I was blown away by their coffee. My favorite was an iced coffee with just a little vanilla for flavoring. It was the best coffee I have found in all my travels. And the barista, Mallory, was very friendly and helpful. I can’t wait to go back, and maybe see if I can bring some coffee home with me. Ten stars all the way!”

I’ve been coming to Happy Garden II ever since I was a Hellhound pup — June 2018 was my first unforgettable visit — and this buffet has been part of my life ever since. Today, on January 1, 2026, my dad (the Alpha of the Pack) called it New Year’s lunch tradition, and we all piled in like we’ve always done. My mom — the wise, calm Omega of the Pack — brought her nurturing energy, making the whole experience feel like family coming home.

Right from the start, this place embraced us with its buffet‑style feast — huge variety, inviting warm steam rising from the dishes, and fresh food stations that would make any Hellhound’s tongue wag with excitement. The buffet here isn’t just a simple spread; it’s a culinary expedition with something for every pack member: seafood, Chinese classics, fresh sides, savory mains, soups, desserts, and so much more served all you can eat — classic buffet style that’s made this place a local staple for years. 

Walking in today brought back memories of so many past pack adventures: summer lunches after long drives, milestone celebrations, and even rainy afternoon gatherings where we’d pack a plate so full it could barely be lifted. And through every single visit from June 2018 straight through to January 1, 2026, one thing has stayed consistent — the fresh, hot buffet spread that always rotates dishes to keep it lively and tasty. The seafood options here — shrimp, crab, crawfish (on weekends), and more — often stand next to the classic Chinese favorites that keep the buffet exciting and satisfying for every taste bud in the pack. 

My dad, the Alpha, always starts at the seafood station, eyes locked on every shrimp and crab leg like they’re treasure. My mom, the Omega, moves slow and steady — she builds balanced plates with care, always saving room for dessert. And me? I’m all over the buffet line, every food memory stitched together from laughs, stories, and overflowing plates. The service here has always been welcoming and attentive, and even on today’s New Year’s lunch visit, the staff made us feel recognized and appreciated. 

Since that first visit back in June 2018, I’ve never met a buffet quite like this one. Every dish is cooked and rotated with dedication so that food isn’t just sitting — it’s fresh and inviting. The variety is massive, and the buffet’s all‑you‑can‑eat style feeds both the stomach and the soul — perfect for family gatherings, celebrations, and memory‑making meals. 

This isn’t just a place to eat. This is a cornerstone of our Hellhound Pack’s story. Moments in this restaurant are woven into who we are: laughter around big tables, my dad teaching the young pups how to load a plate like a pro, my mom making sure no one overlooks the desserts — and every time we leave full‑hearted and full‑bellied.

So here it is, plain and powerful: Five stars, no questions asked. From June 2018 to January 1, 2026, the Hellhound Pack has never found a buffet experience quite like this. “Been there once before while on a motorcycle ride with my boyfriend, didnt get to really meet anyone at that time. Went yesterday afternoon (02/27/19.) Met two of the nicest, coolest, funniest chicks, whom just happened to have been the most awesome bartender's this side of Raceland. They werent just buttering up for tips, they were truly genuine. This place has a great local atmosphere, with downhome feel, like you've been going there for much of your adult life, or that you grew up with the locals. Kudos to Ms. Christina and Ms. Meghan! (Sorry ladies, if i misspelled your names.) This is a most visit if you're out and about in the Raceland or surrounding areas!”
