“Nice little hole in the wall place. If you blink you'll pass it. Probably some of the kindest people you'll ever meet. Ordered a cheese burger with a side of onion rings! Really good burger but the onion rings were the best! Some of the best onion rings I've ever had! Will be backKid-friendliness: Kids cartoons were on TV while I was there!“
“Working in the area and I tell you with Ann's opening for breakfast is a lifesaver. Nothing else in the area is open at 4 in the morning. Warm welcoming environment. Texas toast with bacon, sausage, egg and cheese omg.. Thanks ladies we will definitely be back!! Oh and did I mention free coffee ☕️ on the house....we've told coworkers about the restaurant also they're coming also!“
“Where do I begin?... Not a fancy place by any means. BUT!! There are a few rules...for instance, ladies no showing off that thong and men no saggy pants!! How do we know this? Well the posted sign says so! And don't even think about bringing someone into the bathroom with you or pissing the the sink or the trash can! (there is a sign for that too). If your worried about your literacy skills being able to handle all this reading don't fret!!!...the reading stops there cause there are no menus. The proprietor (and woman who seems to be the caretaker in this small town of fisherman and roughnecks) is Ms. Rose. She will gladly tell you what she has available to make. We were lucky enough to be offered the shrimp and catfish, which ended up being redfish. But no worries! We are pretty sure Ms Rose just put the fries, shrimp and redfish on the plate and lowered it into the deep fryer. I must say in all honesty, it was all very lightly battered and not greasy really at all. It was evident that the seafood was fresh...well at least until we were told about the bone in redfish and crawfish that was being offered to the locals walking in. It must have been evident that we were from out of town. I don't blame Ms. Rose for wanting to give us something she knew we would like though. PS Apparently ribs and ale means seafood and Budweiser...unless the ribs and ale are also being saved for the locals... PPS please call first to see if they are open...Ms. Rose loves that.“
“Life is Good at The Ponderosa!Drove down from New Orleans with a large group this weekend. Cold beer, good drinks and the freshest oysters and seafood you can imagine. But what else would you expect when you're dockside at the marina.Freshly shucked oysters opened at the Oyster Bar, Grilled Oysters on the Half Shell, Fried Oysters to go with our Onion Rings, and fried Softshell Shrimp! But as good as the food was, the service was better: and the food Was Good! There were other large tables and plenty 2 and 4 tops, but the food and drinks flowed on and off our table. Looking forward to my next trip Down River to The Ponderosa...“
“Y’all!!! Give the seafood potato a try and the gumbo! Best food in the area for sure. Owner was knowledgeable of local history and hospitable! Annette was a wonderful server whom I won’t soon forget! Go meet these good people and eat some of the best food you will ever have!“

“I wish there was more stars to give on this place. I stayed here with a buddy while offshore fishing for 4 days. When we arrived the ac was on cold and everything was very clean. Having a fridge and stove was amazing to cook and store fish. I will be back!!“
