“Food is fantastic. Service at the window is good with friendly staff. Parking is a free-for-all and the general public is terrible at handling themselves. No easy way in or out. Shaded picnic tables which is fine when the weather is OK but can be hot in the swamp summer. Get the turkey. It's amazing.

“All I can say is WOW!!!!!!!! Hands down one of if not the best BBQ place I have ate at. I got the lg rib plate with the add on chicken wings and my husband got the 1/2 chicken and we shared to try it all and man when I say it was amazing it was amazing. The sweet potato casserole was so good. The green beans where just alright but the corn, macaroni and cheese and the baked beans were really and did I say really good. Thanks for not disappointing us we drove two hours to get there and will 100% be back sooner rather than later.“

“Yes yes yes. I finally was able to sit down and eat here while I was in town and it’s 10/10. I came on a Sunday when they had meatloaf and mashed potatoes, but of course I had to get some sides to try. My favorites were the smothered green beans and potatoes and pickle cheese (enough to where I’d get those every time I come in if they’re on the menu). Also, those ✨wings✨ omg. They’re habanero pineapple white BBQ wings, but don’t be scared - they’re not overly spicy. I’d say they’re more smoky than spicy. So good. The smothered okra and pot roast were also flavorful and delicious.

The restaurant itself has a very retro/vintage vibe that I think goes really well with the homemade cooking, and the service is very good. I was able to bring my favoritest boy (my dog Cashew) onto the back patio where we enjoyed a late lunch. I’ll be back!“

Customer service is lacking, my takeout order wasn’t received and they didn’t want to fulfill the order. I wouldn’t recommend this location based upon the customer service but I do recommend the jerk bbq sauce.“

“0n a recommendation from our small haunted hotel we hit MRB for lunch. The catfish po boy was outstanding. Their drink specials were just right and reasonably priced. They put a large heaping of beef on the sandwich, and the cow fat French fries paired exceptionally well. Fast service also, so if you work downtown, you can get in and out easily on your lunch break.“

By 11:40, we had enough brisket, pork, turkey and pastrami sandwiches, with sides and desserts, for at least 30 people! Highly recommend!! Unfortunately, our experience fell short in several areas, though we truly believe this place has potential if some key improvements are made. First, the service was lacking—wait times was a little excessive (there were 3 tables it shouldn’t take 15 minutes to get drinks), our table wasn’t given silverware or plates for our appetizer until we asked, condiments weren’t stocked, and refills were nonexistent. Went to grab my own ketchup since I didn’t get my sauces I ordered and couldn’t get a hold of a server… every bottle was empty. There was no check in until after the whole table had already boxed their food themselves. For the price point of the menu, we expected better service from the staff and a more consistent execution from the kitchen. A bit more attentiveness from the staff would go a long way in enhancing the overall dining experience. As for the food, there were some hits and misses. The Creole Bleu fries were great, creating high expectations for the entrees to come. My seafood platter was decent—the fish and shrimp were cooked well—but the hush puppies were cold, onion rings were overly greasy and difficult to eat. My dad’s steak was ordered medium-rare but arrived cold and blue-rare, which was disappointing. Additionally, the pasta dishes at our table were overly watery, which took away from the flavors we were expecting. We truly want to see this restaurant succeed because it’s in a great location and has promise. With some attention to detail in service and consistency in food preparation, this could become a go-to spot for locals. We hope to give it another try in the future and see improvements!“

The tots are seasoned and drenched in cheese and jalapeños are to die for!!Only thing I would recommend urgently is that the place needs a deep cleaning. I know it’s a lot of fried food so the oil residue is everywhere and visible by look and touch.“
