Rocket Drive Inn is an older style drive in that has not changed much since childhood. The food is simple, fresh, and homemade, with great burgers, great ice cream, and Blue Bell ice cream shakes that are superb. The jalapeño sourdough is not on the menu but is a known favorite, and the hot fudge sundae is excellent. Crab balls are a family favorite, and the wife loves the shrimp burger with onion rings. Everything on the menu that has been tried is great. Service is friendly, efficient, and timely, with staff that is patient. Food is prepared quickly, served warm, and reasonably priced. Customers can park and eat in the car or at tables under a huge awning. The only drawbacks are that call-in orders take forever for the phone to be answered, and the young high school girls working can be quiet rude, especially on the phone. Fries can be undercooked often unless asked for crispy. This little gem has outdoor setting for hanging out with friends and family.
