Went into Dooks to order food to take on the plane. Every time I requested an item the clerks (LaKitha) response was. . . we're out, we're out, we're out, we're out. If its on the dang menu, it is your responsibility to make sure the item is in house!!! The clerk was more interested in finding out what from her co worker how the funeral went instead of tending to the needs of the customers. Hamburger was dry, french fries cold. Next time I'll check the reviews before I get food from anywhere.

They have a sign at register that says they charge 2.8% for card payments 'to recoup the cost of processing." OK I'll pay cash. "We dont accept cash".

Had their signature fried chicken/red beans and rice and that was one of the tastiest dishes we had in Nola. Also had the fried fish sandwich on soft bun with arugula, red onions and tomatoes with tartar spread. Also very tasty.Service was friendly but it takes some time to make it so would not recommend if you have only 30 min. between flights. But everything comes out piping hot and fresh. Hands down best meal we've ever had at a US airport.

Stopped by here on our flight back home and so glad we did. The grill was broken so they were only offering fried dishes or their signature dishes. We ordered their fried fish sandwich and the fried chicken/red beans and rice plate. The chicken was just one piece but it was a breast piece with no bone in it so it was equivalent to a leg and thigh piece. Fried and seasoned to perfection. The red beans and rice were smoky and v. flavorful with a little spicy heat. Easily one of the best meals I had while visiting NOLA. The fried fish sandwich was really good too served on a soft bun with arugula, sliced red onion and tomatoes with a tarter sauce spread. 8 hours later and I am kickin' myself for not ordering the gumbo...

Just like the other guy, I wish I had read the reviews first. Anyways, here we go. When we ordered they had ran out of fries (which is the real reason why we selected this place) and instead offered a side sorry side salad (the tomatoes were definitely questionable with age spots on a couple of them.) And only one size drinks were available if you didn't get bottled soda which is only ten cents difference. At least, the bottled soda isn't watered-down.And as far as the taste goes... I would give it a 5/10. Certainly nothing to write home about but nor would you turn it down if you're mildy hungry and on a tight budget. Yeah, everyone knows you pay extra for common things and food at the airport. And as I am fond of saying, 'you get what you pay for,' and this place was definitely not the exception to the rule. The only good thing I can say is that the service really wasn't bad. The lady that served us was pleasant eventhough the place was surprisingly busy.Needless to say I won't make that mistake again though.Maybe I can bring snacks?Hope your experience will be better.

Only got a drink. Read the prior reviews and didnt get the same reading based on sercive. The cashier was nice and greeted me when stepping to the register. Would have graded the food if I got some, but wasn't hungry. Seemed like what you would typically get at an airport food establishment though.

11/16/23 @8:35 pm I ordered a burger because of the name. Then I sat down to wait, and started reading the reviews...totally scared to see what I would end up with ?.Despite being out of mayonnaise, my burger was PHENOMENAL !!! I didn't take a photo because I downed it !!!! #DELICIOUS

Had the Nola Burger on recommendation from the girl that worked there. The flavor was excellent. Lots of seasoning worked fully into the patty itself. Fries were also good. My friend got the classic burger and enjoyed it. Would eat here again.

I ordered a burger and waited a good 10 minutes. I noticed that someone who ordered before me got his. I waited some more then I heard they had no chef! But, someone else who ordered after me got his. I asked “how is that possible”? The cashier said “no chef” I asked for s refund. The manager, small black woman in a cheap pink suit starts talking to me through the cashier: “don’t let anyone make your job hard, you did what you could, you was nice enough to take the order. I said “nice enough? Isn’t that her job?“ the manager said “was she polite!” I said “yes” she shrugged. So apparently that’s it. They get to waste your time and scold you. This place is a joke. We came to Emilia instead. Fast, clean, pleasant. Save your time with this place.

My husband had a hamburger and said it was ok. I had the crispy fish sandwich and ate just the bottom bread, lettuce and tomato because the fried fish sandwich was literally bleeding oil! I saw the oily pattie and pressed a napkin on it to soak up the oil. When I pulled the napkin off the oil from the pattie bled out to the surface. I doubt my gall bladder could handle that much grease.

Not only do they not take cash (likely because they aren't paying their employees enough to keep them from stealing) but the carryout side sent me to the bar and bar tried to send me the carryout side.So the cashier got my attention as I was walking by trying to find something else and she took my order at the carryout side. Mushroom burger and fried shrimp basket. Food was good/standard. No itemized list just a total on my receipt.

Fried shrimp tastes and looks like the breaded frozen shrimp you buy at grocery store. Employees nice, it's an airport
