SHUCKS! Lake Charles is a restaurant that surprises people with how great the food is. It serves actual cajun food and a Smorgasburg of Cajun seafood. The alligator was a very yummy appetizer. The winner was the red beans and rice, simple yet complexed. The bread pudding is also a must-try. The food is great, served quickly and hot, and beautifully plated. The service is FIRE, with staff who are very nice, friendly, sweet, and personable. There is a nice outdoor area with a play gound for the kids, and a really nice atmosphere and scenery. They accommodated a group of six adults and seven children and a party of 9 after church, with reservations seated immediately. The waitstaff was quick to greet and very attentive from start to finish.
