“This is everything I want in a gumbo place. Neighborhood feel, cold beer, salt of the earth people working here. Chef/owner first person I met.

Gumbo was excellent! Highly recommend the Mumbo Gumbo. Combo of everything. I was stuffed when I walked in and just wanted a cold beer to bide my time- sooooo glad I took their advice and tried the gumbo.

“Gentleman that took my order over the phone was very helpful and professional. My order was ready when I arrived to pick it up just over 10 minutes later and the food was delicious. I ordered a fried shrimp poboy and the bread was super fresh, the shrimp were perfectly cooked and seasoned, nice size and well portioned. I also ordered a side of fries and they were plentiful, crispy and well seasoned. Highly recommend. Great neighborhood spot!“

“We stumbled upon Gus’s after shopping at the outlets on Riverwalk. The reviews were strong and fried chicken sounded perfect for lunch. Their chicken is hands down the best fried chicken I’ve ever had at a restaurant! It was also a great price - and for those who have visited NOLA before, you know it can be a pricey city! You must try it!“
