“This place doesn't serve food, but you can go next door or to the other restaurant locations and get some and bring it back in. This atmosphere is general for an older type setting. 35 and up. Several TV'S, bar (can have a running tab) and couches. It is like a lounge. It doesn't have a dance floor (as it is not a club) and they do have an outside patio with no roof covering. Most people dress to impress when coming here. It is limited couches so you want to get there early. They close at 1am. This is a nice place to go to mingle. It is very clean and the staff are very nice and accommodating. The bathrooms are immaculate!! Please go! You will like it. It us free to enter as it is a bar/lounge.“

“Esthetically, average... But I'm a utilitarian. I've visited 3 times. the patrons and staff are always polite and interactive. I have some constructive criticism for the karaoke format, otherwise... no complaints. I'm looking forward to my next visit. 4.5 stars.“

“Good food, good service. Never been unhappy here. I visit Monroe, LA monthly to attend meetings. I eat at Portico 6-8 times a year when in town. A special treat there is their chicken and sausage gumbo. Another special dish is their red beans and rice serving. They can handle large parties and they have an excellent bar. Prices are good, too.“

“I stopped here while visiting a childhood friend for his wedding, the name is what made me pull in to check the place out. I don't go to many bars, but I do frequent pool halls. Unfortunately, they're often poorly lit, dirty, or smell like cigar smoke. My friends and I were surprised to find that this wasn't the case with Shananigans. Even with our party of eight wandering in off the street, it wasn't claustrophobic like most halls can be. The drinks were good and affordable, and the tables, thank god, are in good condition and properly leveled for play. We were even able to order a pizza while there; it was nice. I'd stop by again when I'm in town for our next meeting.“

“The food was excellent along with the atmosphere....the problem was the server...she placed the wrong order when it came to my mother and she got loud about it and then she stated that nachos weren't even on the menu and then when we showed her she left and never came back.“

“The positive points are the Great service—we always ask for Carolina—and the quick service of margaritas, chips, and salsa. Once selected from an extensive menu, the food is served with a delicious presentation. If there is a shortcoming, it's the ambiance.....it could use a makeover that allows more privacy for family gatherings. And let's dim the lights.“
