Hands down the best place in New Orleans on Bourbon Street. The band was off the hook, with the best authentic set of jazz. We were seated immediately, mixed in with locals and vacationers in the pub's open bench style seating which created a unique experience that allowed us to meet new people, share drinks and stories and love of the music. This is first and foremost a jazz club. I have been here many times (about 50 in the last 15 years). The drinks are expensive but you are also paying for the high quality music since there is no cover charge. They sell some drinks cheaper from their window bar. The staff has always been friendly and the music is a perfect way to spend an afternoon in the Quarter.
That aside, the atmosphere is great, and the music is fantastic if you are looking for jazz. The band was awesome. It seems to be unique in this 'neighbourhood' now that most bars play pop or karaoke.
Note that the restrooms are atrocious. You are better off holding it (even if you are a men). I hope this was just bad luck on our part, but it's...
