This place is it's own vibe. It's such a chill place compared to some of the other local places, food is top notch, and I can't even begin to describe the bartenders, they're just beyond amazing. Absolutely a must in NOLA. Oh and make sure to try the basil old fashioned.
Parts of Bourbon Street can be a loud and drunken mess. Yet, as you walk down (or off) the street far enough, things get quieter and classier. The Bourbon "O" Bar is a case in point, and a place Gayle and I enjoyed both a too brief respite one evening and the following afternoon. Outstanding jazz band/lounge singer on the night I visited plus well-made traditional New Orleans cocktails. Hard working bartenders curved out a ton of complicated drinks quickly. I loved the whole experience. This was the traditional upscale jazz club I was looking for on my trip to the jazz capital of the world.
