We did not intend to stop here. However, it was exactly what we were wanting. And needed. We drove past it headed to a different restaurant. (We never made it to the other place)! It was a treat to say the least! Great tasting food! Texas sized portions, lol! Servers had great attitudes and kept up with our orders. Great experience these weary travelers! Thank you!
A perfect hibachi place not far from Lafayette. Taste just like the old and very missed peaking gardens in Lafayette.

Based on reviews, Yamato Steakhouse of Japan | Sushi is a hidden gem with great food. The sushi is amazingly fresh, with a little spicy and a little sweet taste. The hibachi lunch special and salmon and vegetables are delicious. The steak and lobster combo leaves you wishing you had a bigger stomach, and the best raw sushi for miles around is available. During weekday lunches, the 3 for $10 sushi rolls cannot be beaten. However, steak is sometimes over cooked; ordering medium rare results in it being cooked all the way. The miso soup and plum wine are flavorful and crisp. The service is top notch with friendly, smiling, and accommodating staff. Pricing for lunch is fair and portions are generous. The whole family loved it. This place is a hidden gem and never judge a book by its cover.
