Waffle House in Shreveport

The last visit was so good that I wanted to eat here again on my way back home. This morning, being Saturday, the place was noticeably busier. Lorenzo and another cook were accompanied by a cheerful crew of five others. This time, my server was a delightful young lady named Asia. Who, in apparent Waffle House tradition, made me feel welcome. She was on her game, and was a great ambassador for the organization. Again, the whole crew, especially Lorenzo and his counterpart, worked together almost flawlessly. My bacon, egg and cheese sandwich on toast was delicious, and the coffee was hot and fresh. This is a great place for well prepared food, and generally feeling appreciated.

At 4:30 AM, I virtually had this place to myself. The cook, (Lorenzo),who is really a chef, was busy preparing for the morning. Ths place is clean, neat, and well lighted. Lorenzo greeted me with a smile, and the server (Malik) also smiled as he brought a menu. I was really impressed the fact that, although Malik suggested a breakfast, he didn't argue when I asked for one waffle and a coffee. He took the order, and Lorenzo already had the waffle cooking. These two worked together like a well oiled machine, and they were open to conversation, and created a welcome atmosphere. A slightly inebriated customer came in for a large take-out order for multiple people, and as Lorenzo cooked, Malik assembled the order, and they had everything ready within approximately ten minutes. This was one of the best experiences I've ever had at a Waffle House, and I have eaten at a few.“

“While waiting for my order, I noticed what I can only describe as a fully organized, pay-per-view level chicken fight happening in the back corner of the restaurant. At least six people were circled around with cash in hand like it was the featherweight championship of the South. I’m not saying there was a referee, but there was definitely crowd control.

Meanwhile, my hashbrowns were scattered, smothered, and covered to absolute perfection. The staff acted like this was just a normal Tuesday, which honestly made it even better. No one blinked. Coffee was still flowing. Orders were still being called. Chickens were apparently settling their differences.

“My mother and I came this morning after her cataract surgery and receive the most excellent service from a young lady named Monique. She was most helpful and accommodated us on all our needs, and my mom can be difficult at times🤣 but we really enjoyed the atmosphere and the food and most definitely the service“

“We checked out this Mansfield Road Waffle House because the Bert Kouns one has a really toxic waitress. Our waitress here, Tracy, was just fabulous. Efficient & friendly service, combined with the universal Waffle House ouvre, has seduced our senior breakfast dollars once more. Thank you!“
