Good, Southern, homey meals. Nothing fancy, but everything's good. 10 oz ribeye is my go-to. Service is always fast and with a smile. Prices are reasonable. There's a drive, but it's a pretty one.
I used to frequent this restaurant when it first opened years ago. I hadn't been here since 2007 and was so glad to see they were still in business when we passed by yesterday. We brought our 13 year old who has heard us talk about Backroads many times. She loved the tea being served in the mason jars and her favorite was the tiny bandanas on the horseshoe art/napkin holder centerpieces. My husband and I went in on a Saturday night. The food was great (the corn fritters were our favorite). My husband had the seafood platter and everything was cooked well and seasoned great. I ordered the sirloin and it was cooked perfectly at the medium I requested. The Summertime margarita was sweet and great the beers were reasonably priced and cold.
