“The service was pretty fast and it was pretty cozy. The staff are really nice and the menus are really cute. Would definitely go here from time to time. They have cheap options and they have really exotic options if you want to budget or really go off for the night I had the boneless broth cause I just wanted to get in and out and the broth when I did put it in, I had never tasted a broth so flavorful before it was really good definitely would recommend“

“The food was so good! It was the first time I have ever had Szechuan food and now it won’t be my last. I have seen people here in the past but never ventured in to try it out and I have lived across the street from it for two years. They were so nice and accommodating. They added vermicelli noodles to my stewed tofu and shrimp and I was so grateful.“

“The chili is amazing. I can’t ever make it home without digging in on the way. Getting soup and chicken from the same place is genius, a full meal that tastes like it came from your own kitchen.“

“We visited Sen Yai Noodles for lunch on a hot day, and it turned out to be a wonderful choice. The restaurant is small, clean, and very inviting, with a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. The service was excellent—our waiter answered our questions and offered helpful recommendations.
The menu has a good variety of dishes, and I especially appreciated that it included pictures of everything, which made choosing easier. The portions are large. I ordered the Unadon, which came with a complimentary Thai iced tea. The dish was delicious and looked fabulous. The Thai iced tea was refreshing and perfect for the hot day.“

“Love Tu y Yo in Somerville but quite a drive for us. This has the same owners and much of the same menu and is much closer. This restaurant was wonderful! My favorites are the cactus salad, the tamales, plantains, and birria tacos. Mole wasn't my favorite, and pozole was good but a bit salty. Staff were really friendly and welcoming! Definitely looking forward to coming back!“

“Had a wonderful time, especially thanks to the tour guide(s) at 4 pm. The main leader, “Sarah,” definitely made the experience worthwhile. There was a giant group of young kids that weren’t paying much attention (as young kids do-not a complaint) yet we were able to learn and enjoy the amazing museum and experiences nonetheless. They were very accommodating, humorous, and well equipped to handle large groups of people while keeping their attention. We liked the experience and would go back.“

“It's a very small place however it is cozy, the staff were friendly, and the food was great. It's rare when you find a restaurant that matches all three and this is one of them so if you're going or you're considering, I highly recommend you go.“

“I ate here twice this week while on a business trip. The food is excellent, but a light bulb was flickering on Sunday and was still strobe-lighting my dinner on Tuesday. It was annoying to dine under—I don’t know how the staff hasn’t gone crazy.“

“Cafe Mami is a Japanese comfort food spot that focuses on simple, hearty dishes like curry rice, katsu, hamburg steak, and donburi-style meals. The space is fairly small and tucked away, with more of a functional, casual feel rather than a polished dining room. It’s the kind of place people go for a quick, filling meal rather than a long sit-down experience.
The standout here is definitely the Japanese curry and katsu combinations. The pork tonkatsu curry in particular is a go-to, with a thick, crispy cutlet served over rich curry sauce and rice. The portions are generous for the price, and the curry itself leans comforting and slightly sweet-savory in a way that feels very classic and approachable. The hamburg steak and oyakodon are also solid options if you want something different from fried cutlet dishes.
Service is fast and handled by a very small staff, so things move quickly once you order. Because of how busy it can get during peak hours and how limited the seating is, there’s often a bit of a rush feel to the experience. It works well as a quick lunch or casual dinner, but it’s not really a place you linger for long.
The seating situation is probably the biggest drawback. It fills up quickly, and the space feels tight, especially when there’s a line forming. That said, the turnover is fast enough that you usually don’t have to wait too long, even when it looks crowded from outside.
Overall, Cafe Mami is a reliable spot for Japanese comfort food in the Porter Square area. The value is strong, the portions are generous, and the curry dishes are consistently satisfying. It’s not fancy, but it does exactly what it’s meant to do well, which is serve quick, filling, and comforting Japanese meals.“

“Great place to stop by. The staff are great and you can always find a food option that you'll like. If your just starting off, try the chicken katsu bento. You will have to wait for this meal, but its a great starting point. I find the meals are great to eat between work and school since I don't have much time to eat in most places.“

“Mu Lan Taiwanese Restaurant is a Taiwanese restaurant in Waltham that focuses on traditional dishes, family-style portions, and bold flavors. The restaurant has a comfortable and casual atmosphere that works well for both smaller meals and larger group dinners. The menu has a wide range of options, including classic Taiwanese favorites and some dishes that are more familiar to people who enjoy Chinese cuisine, making it easy to order whether you are looking for something traditional or something more recognizable.
The food is the main reason to visit, especially the dishes that highlight Taiwanese flavors. The crispy chicken in chili sauce was one of the standout dishes because it had a good balance of texture and seasoning. The outside had a nice crispness while the sauce added a stronger flavor without overwhelming the dish. The salt and pepper pork chops were another highlight, with a satisfying crunch and the kind of savory flavor that makes it easy to keep reaching for another piece.
The duck dishes are also worth trying, especially if you are looking for something that feels more unique compared to standard Chinese takeout options. The scallion pancakes and dumplings are good choices for sharing, and the menu has plenty of dishes that work well for ordering family style. I liked that the portions were generous, which makes it easier to try multiple dishes with a group instead of everyone ordering separately.
The service was generally friendly and the food came out at a good pace during my visit. The restaurant can get busy, especially during peak dinner hours, but that also adds to the lively atmosphere. For larger groups, making a reservation is helpful because the space fills up quickly.
Overall, Mu Lan is a solid choice for Taiwanese food in the area. The combination of authentic flavors, large portions, and a wide menu makes it a place I would return to. I would focus on the traditional dishes rather than the more Americanized options because that is where the restaurant stands out the most.“

“I don't go to bars much these days but came here for a live music event, the Nirvana tribute band and this place is awesome. The place LOOKS amazing, they had sports playing on a bunch of tvs the food was PHENOMENAL, you order and they text you when it's ready that was pretty wild to me, and the best part of all the amazing staff that was so friendly to me and my family members. “Seoul Soulongtang is a pretty popular restaurant located in the heart of Allston.
The lines are usually pretty long to enter here, so I would come early if you are looking to get a table. The service was quick and efficient, and they were able to get meals out within a timely manner.
The restaurant has a large seating area, and there used to be seating areas where you could sit on the floor and eat. I haven't seen anyone use it though for a couple of years now, and it seems like it had been converted to where they store delivery orders. The kitchen is open and you can see into the kitchen at some tables.
As for the food, it is alright but the most recent visit I thought it was a little lacking. I usually get the Budae Jjigae, which comes with the sauce on the bottom. The sauce eventually diffuses throughout the soup to have the signature spice. The Budae Jjigae is very good, and I would definitely recommend it if you are hungry.
In comparison, I also tried the Yookgae Jang. I expected it to be spicy and with good flavor, but I was disappointed to see that the broth was watery and had no real flavor to it. It just tasted like water with a bit of diluted spice.
The prices here are pretty good for the portion size, and I would definitely come here for a casual dinner with friends.“
