This might be long. So, I work at Starbucks in Allston. I love the people at my store, but a few days ago I went to the Tatte near Kenmore I think it was, and I loved the food and atmosphere. Then I tasted the cold brew. I only ever drank Starbucks bc I work there and never drank coffee until I started working there, so I never knew any other way of coffee life. We had such a lovely experience at Tatte! Everything was delicious, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. A special thank you to Fedor, who took great care of us. He was incredibly polite, attentive, friendly, and professional. His wonderful service made our visit even more enjoyable. We’ll definitely be back!
The 3 stars is for a one off happening. Food is great as usual, the place clean, bright, airy, inviting. I’d like more care in packing pastries. I bought 3 to go items: pistachio croissant, lemon poppyseed loaf slice, blueberry muffin. The courteous worker put all 3 in a small paper bag with the croissant crushed underneath the hefty cake slice and the muffin. With no pastry paper separating the pieces.

Tatte Bakery & Cafe offers amazing bakery items, great coffee, and fantastic food, with consistently good food and drinks. The turkey avocado sandwich is super yum, though it has a big bread to content ratio. The chai latte with vanilla is delicious and a favorite chai in the area. For hearty options, the lamb hash is recommended, while the smoked salmon and avocado tartine is a fresh choice. Pastries like the chocolate and almond croissant are delicious, and the lattes are perfect. However, the atmosphere has issues: the AC is too cold, most foods are over priced, and the cafe can be messy with dirty dishes and filled bussing bins. One visit involved a completely wrong order that took three trips to correct, with a manager who handled the situation poorly, refused a special order, and initially charged for another sandwich. The cafe also consistently smells like chemical cleaners, though some reviews note this may have been fixed. Despite these problems, many customers keep coming back and would definitely recommend Tatte Bakery & Cafe.
