About Sam Diego's Mexican Cookery and Bar

Sam Diego's Mexican Cookery and Bar is a popular spot known for its chips and salsa, as well as its giant margaritas, which many say are the best on Cape Cod. The restaurant has a large, comfortable atmosphere with cute art that creates a nice ambiance. The service is friendly, and the staff is accommodating to gluten-free diners by offering separate gluten-free chips and quesadillas. The food is very Americanized Mexican, with some BBQ dishes also available. Customers enjoy the warm chips and salsa, especially when they come out hot, and the comfort food that brings back memories of meals with family. Many reviews highlight the mouth-watering, flavorful food, including the coleslaw and queso, though some have noted that the side of black beans may not be appealing. Despite occasional negative experiences, many guests have a good time and find the food consistently tasty. The restaurant has a fun throwback vibe to 1980s/90s restaurants that served favorites like chimichangas. Overall, Sam Diego's offers a lively, nostalgic experience with satisfying meals and enjoyable drinks, making it a highlight of any day.

Loved the decor and sitting at the bar with Michelle as our bartender and server. She had an awesome personality and loved talking to her and she listened to what we had to say and showed interest. Food was great and I got the trio enchiladas she recommended. 🌮🌶️🥑

food was good. Variety of dishes. Waitress was attentive. We had lunch... music could have been turned down just a little bit.

For the first time ever I had a enchilada that wasn't sweet.
