Friendly atmosphere; great food choices. Big plate choices; smaller plate choices; burgers, salads, etc. We were not rushed out, even though it was a very busy night.
Not much vibe inside, but conveniently located steps from the Opera House. The food was good. Think: comfort food. Sone creative twists like mashed potatoes with andouille and greens. Served forgot include our theater discount and had to ask for pepper twice, but was friendly overall.
The staff was great! Unfortunately we were served two plates with raw chicken skewers. While the staff was apologetic and quick to make us new dishes, it kind of ruined the experience. Once we got the new dishes we were also slightly underwhelmed by the flavor. The chicken was kind of bland. That said, the management and staff were wonderful and the mess up on our dishes may have been a fluke. I would go back and try something else.

Guests also enjoyed the meatloaf, salmon with teriyaki glaze, and hummus plate with grilled vegetables. Although some noted that the strawberry shortcake was too dry, overall, diners find Back Deck to be a pleasant place for good food in a relaxed setting, especially before a show, with reasonable prices for the Downtown Crossing area.
