The main dishes were average. The chips, salsa, and guac were all solid. The portion sizes were oddly small. I received a tiny serving of rice and an even smaller serving of beans with my food. Our waters stayed full the entire time.I ordered the carne Asada, which I ordered medium rare. It arrived medium-well, and I wasn’t sure whether it was intentional or not. The flavors were good, but frankly, not great. The enchilada that came on my plate had a highly overcooked filling of white meat chicken. I would have expected thigh or otherwise more careful cooking.Parking: Extremely busy downtown street parking, or expensive garage parking is available.Wheelchair accessibility: No accessibility here. Several stairs to enter, narrow pathways, and cramped interior. No elevator to be found.

Friday night dinner with my Latina posse. Good food. Waiter was great. Cheesy decor but goes well with the place. - Chips with salsa and guac: Delicious (finally guac with enough salt and lime) - Al pastor taco plate: Delicious - Piñata Margarita cocktail (extra spicy by request): Waiter was skeptical when I told him I wanted it SPICY. I don't blame him. Boston doesn't really do spicy. I'm always underwhelmed by the spicy drinks in this city. But he and the bartender DELIVERED. It was perfect. The place is is definitely on the pricy side. I'd easily have paid 30-50% less for all this in LA. $15 for chips, guac, and salsa is kinda hilarious. But also hard to fault them for this when it's back bay and they know it's hard to find good tacos in Boston.

This place is awesome. This is one of the best mexican meals I have ever had. The enchilada mole was awesome. Guac was fresh, bartenders were on top of it.

I celebrated my daughter's 18th birthday here and everything was great. The service, the food, and even the other patrons.

Cool spot! Good food and cocktails. The door is slightly hidden - fun speakeasy vibes! Went on a Saturday and it was pretty busy, definitely recommend making a reservation in advance.

We walked into the alley around 5:30 and wondered if we were in the right place. We open the door and wow! Que experiencia. Muy bien!! We loved it! The food, the ambiance, the drinks and the staff all great. Drinks. “El Amigo” and “Añejo old Fashion”.

I have LOVED CR for years-maybe as early as 1985. The wait person suggested an entree; I agreed. It was not good. I said so. He responded, "Yeah sometimes there are too many peas and carrots." The drinks were great. No longer serve Mexican coffee. Was told that Mr. Romero liked it and he never stops in now so they took it off the menu. No flan. Friday night, busy of course. OUT of flan by 7:30?? The NOISE LEVEL was unbearable. OUTRAGEOUS. The room was crowded; Friday night I guess. Guac, salsa, chips...great. Good rice and beans. Service? But very busy.

Overpriced and Underwhelming. Food was fine, if a bit bland, and far from the best Mexican available in the area. The $20 margarita was the most expensive of the three margaritas I had in Boston over the weekend, but offered nothing noteworthy to warrant the higher price tag. We were seated in a drab and smelly area in the back of the restaurant next to tubs used to collect dirty dishes. The waiter brought our check before we requested it and didn't show us the breakdown of the bill- just a total on a handheld device. Awkward, confusing, and a great way to distract from this restaurant's policy of nickel-and-diming the customer. The most disappointing part of the evening was the staff urgently trying to rush us out the door the moment we finished eating. Frantically collecting everything off our table like it was midnight when we were still chatting and finishing our drinks-- it was only 9:30 p.m. As we exited the restaurant, all of the chairs were already piled on top of the tables, even though there were still people dining. You'd find more hospitality and the same level of cuisine at a Chili's. (And at least their fajitas are served on a sizzling skillet, not in lukewarm pile in a soup bowl.) An expensive and disappointing dinner out. We live in the neighborhood but won't be back.

The food and service were both fantastic! We got the chips and guac to start and for entrees the chicken enchiladas / Baja fish tacos. This place has some of the best Mexican food I've had in Boston. The one thing is it is a bit expensive for the portions. The margaritas are fantastic but $20 is a lot for a drink. I guess it is in Back Bay and will be more expensive given the cost of real estate. Either way still a great place to try!

Everything was delicious! I have a gluten allergy and the Menu was well marked and staff was knowledgeable. The chips are GF (not cross contaminated). They can sub most things to make it GF.

1st: The menu is not like any other Mexican restaurant it has really uncommon things on there (I understand wanting to stand out). 2nd: When you're Latino and you go to a latin restaurant you expect the food to be seasoned. The food was BEYOND bland. My boyfriend and I came here last night & because the food was so unseasoned we legit started looking for other places to go and eat because we were starving from being so unsatisfied!
