What an awesome place. STRONG. Margarita. Very generous delish quesadilla. Four different salsa on bar. Really a great place. Alejandra great server!!!!
If you are Hispanic and already know how to dance... this place is not for you 😅
I got in, there's a something class, without the music, and no space on the bar to hang out.
So, not my vibe...

Absolutely delicious food! I never would have thought you’d find a pretty authentic, homemade-tasting Mexican restaurant in Boston but I was wrong. Everything was amazing: the spicy margarita (superb), the guacamole (maybe a little less lime), the flautas (👌🏻) and the tacos carnitas (🥇). The service was also great.

El Barco – Mexican Restaurant & Tequila Bar in Boston’s Back Bay offers a mix of authentic Mexican flavors and a lively atmosphere. The food receives high praise, with standout dishes like tacos carnitas, flautas, and the birria tacos, which are described as unbelievable. The drinks are also a highlight, with guests enjoying the spicy margarita and espressotini, both noted for being delicious. The service is often described as exceptional, with attentive and friendly staff, particularly mentioning a waitress named Alejandra who made each visit enjoyable. Chips and salsa, along with churros, add to the satisfying experience. However, the venue may not appeal to everyone; some find it less suitable if they prefer dancing or a more vibrant scene, as it has a more subdued, classy vibe without music or bar space for hanging out. Overall, El Barco is recommended for great food, drinks, and attentive service, making it a popular spot for those seeking an authentic Mexican dining experience in Boston.
