“Just had a fantastic dinner at Ruka.. our first visit! Our server, Mike, was outstanding! Funny & made excellent recommendations! We (2 people) shared the crispy rock shrimp sushi, tuna poke, lomi lomi sushi, seared bok choy, and wagyu steak. For dessert we had the fried dough! Holy cow, everything was amazing!!! I look forward to coming to Ruka again!“
“Small, quiet place with a friendly hostess/waitress, ordered the Lomo Saltado with rice, plus a side order of Yucca, the meat was well prepared and flavorful, but just a bit dry, it would have been better if they poured more of the marinade/juice onto the Lomo, either way, it tasted freshly made, the rice was a bit dry, and the Yucca was perfect and with a generous portion (for the half order) - not oily or dry/tough, not the best Peruvian food I've ever had, but it satisfied my craving and I'd eat there again“
“Delicious Peruvian food with expensive Boston prices. Quality over quantity, the portions feel a bit small but everything was very good.Parking is a bit tricky. There's limited street parking and I believe you are allowed to park in the lot by the grocery store. There's no sign saying otherwise. My friend parked there for the hour and a half we were there on a Saturday night and his car was still there.Edit from their website about parking: "There is plenty of street parking on BOTH sides of our street (Adams Street). This includes the area directly in front of the restaurant and across the street on the side of Russo’s Tux. There is additional parking on Garfield Street, just around the corner, as well as Wesley Street which is behind our building. The parking lot next to our building is NOT ours and vehicles will be towed. Please help us respect our neighbors! Please feel free to call the restaurant with any questions."Parking: Street parking, and maybe the lot at the end by the grocery store. Don't park in the one next to the restaurant, that's residential only“
“AMAZING Peruvian Restaurant in Charlestown, MA. Food was super authentic, both in flavors and in preparation. The Papas A La Huancaina and the Anticuchos were absolutely PERFECT appetizers. The ceviche and the chicharron de pescado were amazing main dishes to share. The staff was lovely, the Latin music playing added to the authenticity of the place. There are beautiful pictures on the wall that are clearly important to the owners and likely from their home. Highly recommend this place if you are looking for authentic Peruvian flavors!“
“Hip little spot in Somerville for seafood with a Peruvian twist. This spot is pretty small so make a reservation ahead of time. Seating can be pretty intimate if you have a big party or broad shoulders. The seafood was good, I recommend the mixed seafood risotto and the cocktails were delicious.“
“We loved everything about this place. The food was spot on. Our server, Jaysa was friendly, attentive and had wonderful recommendations. We were very impressed with the staff dynamic. If you are looking for great Peruvian food and feel good vibes-this is the spot! We will be “
“Very good place. Nice atmosphere, although a little small (there were a good number of people waiting to have a seat). The service was fast and incredibly friendly.I really liked the ceviche and the dry goat (I felt a slight taste of blue cheese, I don't know why but I liked it, although there wasn't much cilantro). I ordered a lomo saltado but it didn't taste as good as the lomo saltado that a Peruvian is used to. There was something about the silao/vinegar/oyster sauce dressing that was lacking flavor. Plus the meat was a little dry.I liked that they serve you two types of chili and golf sauce as an additional. One point that I didn't like very much: the background music. Only Arjona sounded. It would have been better to hear something typical Peruvian.Anyway, I give it 5 stars because I would definitely return to the restaurant because it is good, although with some things to improve, I have no doubt that the experience, above all, is repeatable :)“
“I've been coming to Machu Picchu since 2014, customer service is always amazing, I'm a regular client and Carlos always takes good care of us, he always exceed our expectations delivering good quality conversations and hospitality, every time we open the door he always greet us with a smile, food is out of this world, this is the most authentic Peruvian food you'll have in Boston, it's like being in Lima again. Carlos if you read this I wanna say you are amazing and thank you for everything. I will come back soon!!“
“The best Peruvian food in Boston!! Everything is homemade, I feel like I'm back in Lima! The portions are huge for the price. I tried the tallarines verde which were so creamy!! You can order it with meat or chicken - The papa a la huancaina was AMAZING!! If you like spicy, I recommend trying their rocoto (spicy sauce) it brings everything together! THIS RESTAURANT IS A MUST TRY! So worth it!“
“I can’t complain, the food was good, the place looks very clean. However, it was freezing inside!!!. I couldn’t eat and I was forced to keep my heavy winter coat on the entire time, which is sad because I drove from far away to enjoy a great dinner and I couldn’t finish it because I was too cold so I took my food to go. Also, I thought it was a Colombian place lol. Other than that I mean the food was great so like I said, I can’t complain.“
“Polla a la brasa was ?-- marination to perfection, meat fall off the bones tender and juicy.Ceviche mixto was a little too sour to my liking but the overall component went together well and balanced things out. I also like that there were a lot of raw onions in there, but it didn't taste too onion-y that you'd end up with onion breath.“
“This place is one of the best place to go in a hot summer weather. I really like the shaved ice with fresh fruits on top. The syrup was well distributed throughout and there was condensed milk that went well with shaved ice. There was a long line around 30 minutes but it was all worth it. It is a must place to check out if you are in Boston. I got half pina colada and half mango minutas which I highly recommend getting.“
