WOWOW a must go in Boston. This place does not disappoint. Literally everything was delicious. All the appetizers were fried to perfection with a light tasting batter. The curry beef udon was SO GOOD. Savory and delicious. The curry taste was perfect, not overbearing. The udon was cooked well, not too soft nor hard. The kanten dessert was a nice and light dessert. Not too sweet. The decor inside is adorable. The flowers and banners really make a difference. It was a lil spot that made me feel like I was jumping into Japan. Service was fast. We didn't have to wait too long for our group of 6. Very accommodating. If you make a reservation, make sure to be on time. They are strict which is understandable because it's a small space. Super great! If you are in Boston, you gotta try this place!!

Food was wonderful and flavorful. The atmosphere has a nice Japanese traditional soba shop vibe to it. Just make sure you are prepared to wait.

Good service, decor, and seating for Chinatown. No complaints for any of the dishes we tried. The soba & tofu dishes were good. They had initially brought us the wrong tofu dish, but they had come back to let us know & corrected it. Overall, I'd return to try their other noodle dishes

We came in on a cold rainy night and needed something warm. The husband wanted to revisit simenya for the beef rice. It is a lovely cozy place with cute Japanese decor. I just learned the soba and udon noodles are house made!! Service is always attentive and kind.

Loved trying this restaurant in Chinatown! We came on a weekend for lunch (they open at 12pm) and there were plenty of tables available. We split the Koji fried chicken as an app, which was delicious (excellent seasoning). For mains I got the sukiyaki noodles (beef) which had the option of either soba noodles or udon noodles. I got soba which was super yummy - the broth is very complex and rich without feeling too heavy, and the beef was especially delicious- almost had a bacon-like profile. The interior is very cute and clean. Will be back!

Walked in on a Saturday evening around 7.15pm and were seated immediately. Service was friendly and super efficient. Decor was cozy and warm. Ordered the Agedashi tofu, curry chicken udon, curry chicken soba, and soba ice cream. Everything was delicious. The noodles had a great bite, and I loved the curry broth. The chicken is fried, so it is a heavier dish. So glad our waitress recommended the ice cream - it had a great earthy flavor and textural crunch from the buckwheat.

so glad i tried this place! we arrived around 6:30 on a sunday and there was a line of people waiting at the front, but it moved fairly quickly and we were seated within 15-20 minutes. the ambience was very cute and trendy, and the service was attentive. i ordered the kimchi beef soba and my friend ordered the curry beef udon. the soba was delicious with a nice flavorful broth and lovely presentation. i will say this restaurant is a little pricier than other noodle spots in chinatown, but i think it's worth it for the most part!

Excellent new restaurant with house made udon and soba dishes among other apps and donburi bowls. This was a spur of the moment drop in after having seen this on the Eater heat map the other day as we just happened to be walking past. We ordered just a few dishes but given the quality, we'll be back for more. Ambience is nice with a modern cute subterranean location which has been decked out in blonde wood trims, banners on string, and floral arrangements which made me feel like being transported to spring in Japan (rather than a dingy basement on a Chinatown street corner) Service was attentive despite the lunchtime rush on this Sunday (no line and half empty when we arrived, but full restaurant and 4-6 people waiting in line by mid meal). Water glasses were never empty, straws were brought out for the kids glasses without needing to ask, and sharing bowls also brought out for the kids as well. Food - the most important part (keeping in mind this was a fairly limited sampling of the menu). Udon - I'd say one of the best in Boston for taste and texture. I know I'll be craving the cold spicy beef udon at a random time. Great combo of heat, sweet, salty, crunch, and chew. Sukiyaki udon also a winner though a little bit more one dimensional. I think Tsurutontan makes a better broth with their wagyu sukiyaki udon and is a bit more balanced overall. Best competitor to the cold udon would be Ume Ga Arukara though their beef quality is worse. Tried a soba dish as well to get a sense of their quality. While the flavor was earthy with a richness that you don't commonly find, it felt overcooked and some of the noodles were clumped. I'd be interested to try their cold zaru soba (or tenzaru) in the future to get a better sense. I find that hot soba dishes tend to lead to overcooked noodles though so it may just be me. Quality of portions are a little bit on the lean side esp given the pricing and location. Extra order of udon noodles runs $10. Overall, 4.5 stars (really wish yelp would let you give 1/2 rating increments) - docked 1/2 star for value but this place will enter into my regular rotation based on my initial visit.

I love coming here to eat. The fried chicken was really good and the snow crab udon is great. Since coming here last time, the service and time to make the food got so much quicker

I thought this place was just ok. Ambiance and decor were really nice. Service was acceptable; waitress was attentive. The food was ok - I get the sense this place is cashing in the novelty of serving soba noodles in Chinatown and that the dishes themselves are pretty basic. My curry udon soba felt mostly like generic curry from the box. I will say my partners dish that was the duck soba tasted better. Certainly could be my dish selection but a little unconvinced. Was going to be a three but I bumped to a four cause the bathroom is really nice.
