Pretty awful experience here. The entire station smelled awful and was very dirty. There are a lot of unsavory characters roaming around. I did not feel very safe here. I recommend just coming right before your train—no need to lounge here.
Conveniently located behind the South Station train terminal, just a few minutes walk. I was happy that it was so easy to find with great signage. Just take the escalator to the top level where there are a few places to eat, bathrooms and where the gates for the buses are. The elevator is roomy and helpful if you have a ton of luggage (I don't, I was only carrying a backpack). Clean, modern, and so easy to navigate.

Going to Boston from New York City is easy. I slept on a bus for over 5 hours then woke up again in Boston. A bit haunted but it was ok, my friend and I had so much fun time to fix it out were to go.
