God, do I love this place. It's on the "mainland" side just before the Sagamore Bridge. It calls to you as a taste before the Cape, and a last treat when you're leaving. Always stop. This place is the essence of the Cape. Barlow's is a small, authentic, no frills, clam shack. The fried scallops were amazing! Each one was sweet, plump, juicy, and lightly seasoned to perfection. It is a smaller portion but filling and worth every penny! I have driven by it for years because of its location-on busy route 6-hard to pull into sometimes. There are tables inside and picnic tables outside with a view of the Cape Cod Canal across the highway. Casual environment. Super friendly staff. Cute cape cod cottage style building with clam shell parking lot.

Our food was served hot and it was delicious. The fried clams, the shrimp, onion rings and fries could not have been any better. There is a wonderful 1950s atmosphere here you expect on the Cape. There is outdoor tables and an immaculate indoor restaurant and bathrooms. This is a place you will visit every time you head to the Cape.
