“My husband and I were lucky enough to dine at Ocean House for our anniversary trip to the Cape Cod area, and it was 20/10 to say the least. I have traveled overseas and back multiple times, and all over the United States - and not once through my travels have I ever experienced such an amazing dining experience as it was tonight. He made our evening, from providing us top tier service to a thoughtful dessert for our anniversary- we couldn’t have asked for a better gentleman to serve us. “We walked into the nearest café with no expectations at all, since we had already looked at the menu and it was basically just omelets.

But in the end, I was pleasantly surprised and had one of the most enjoyable breakfasts in a long time.

Very kind waiters and service, everything calm, clean, and friendly. I ordered a Greek omelet. The presentation was beautiful: they served the omelet with filling, buttered toast, and rustic-style potatoes.

Unfortunately, I didn’t take a photo — I really didn’t expect anything special, and by the time I started eating and realized I should have taken one, it was already too late.

It seems like such a simple dish made from simple ingredients: eggs, vegetables, and bread, but it was cooked so incredibly well that I experienced a kind of gastronomic bliss with every bite. The perfectly balanced combination of flavors — hot crispy buttered toast, the vegetable omelet, and roasted potatoes — was absolutely mind-blowing. I don’t know what they do to it, but it feels like magic! Maybe it’s because I had no expectations at all and they completely exceeded them, but I’m genuinely impressed.

I very rarely write reviews, but while I was eating I realized I just had to do it right then. I want people not to overlook this place and to definitely try these amazing dishes.

“Sunbird is one of my favorite breakfast spots on the cape. The food is unique and wholesome. My favorites are the breakfast tacos and chai latte. I love the picnic tables and patio in the back - such a relaxing spot to enjoy quiet or a catch up with friends!“

“Chocolate lovers pay attention.. if you love sweet treats, stop in at the Chocolate cafe on the cape right off Route 6. They have a plethora of delicious truffles with different flavors. These are some of the biggest truffles I’ve had, so they may be more than an average truffle, but you get your moneys worth.

They also have homemade fudge and bakery items along with coffee and breakfast and lunch sandwiches. Plenty of nicknacks to look at as well, and lots and lots of signs with sayings.

My husband and I have been vacationing on Cape Cod for decades, and didn't know about the fantastic ocean front outdoor bar. Today, we wandered up the stairs after seeing the sandwich board sign on the beach, eager to try the daily cocktail special. We will make this a destination for all future Cape Cod vacations.“

“8/6/21 Had breakfast here today. Got seated right away about 9-9:15am Waiter took order, BYO Breakfast sandwich with short stack, and 2 Scrambled eggs with sausage and home fries, and a popover. Saw other people come in after us, order, and be served. 🤔 After about 45 minutes, got up to ask where breakfast was; “it should be out soon” 🤷🏼‍♀️We we’re seriously contemplating getting up and leaving !! (Again, a breakfast sandwich, and 2 scrambled eggs!🤔) And it still wasn’t too busy in there. Our waiter didn’t come bring the food to the table, 2 other people did, never asked if things were ok. When he came to bring the bill, again never spoke to us, but, was talking to the table behind is. 🙄🤷🏼‍♀️ It came HIGHLY recommended, but, we weren’t fans. Oh, and also on my “breakfast sandwich”, I got charged separately for the English Muffin!! 🤷🏼‍♀️ it’s listed in the description as coming on an English Muffin, so, again…. Why being charged extra?!!🤷🏼‍♀️🤔 The popover was totally burnt and cold , and sausages over cooked and burned. 2 people- $34, Thanks, but no thanks! Service wasn’t that great! And 45 minutes for a breakfast sandwich and 2 scrambled eggs?!!🤔 We aren’t tourists, we are local to Chatham, and was trying to keep it local, but, …….“
