Coffee superb, baklava exquisite and the setting perfect. Also if one is extremely lucky a neighborhood turkey may cross Beacon Street with you. Is this place real-YES.

Athan's Bakery & Cafe is a cozy spot in Brookline with a perfect atmosphere, full of students with computers and happy groups. The staff is friendly and welcoming. The desserts are not sugary nonsense; the chocolate mousse cake is very rich, not too sweet, with a very nice creamy texture. The fruit tart cake was one of the best ever tasted, with cream made from pure whipped cream. The bread, especially the mango one, is a must-try. The cortado is a favorite, and the cappuccino was great. Some found the cheese pie not cheesy enough. Overall, it is the best cafe in Boston, ideal for work, reading, or chatting with friends.
