As many people say it's expensive. I don't love their iced coffee. It has that acidic flavor that a lot of fancy shops have, which I don't care for.
Their bread is really good though, the hype lives up for the bread
I think my main issue is that with the high prices, when they flip the screen they auto select 20% tip for you which I find disingenuous. There's no table service so why are you suggesting I tip the same I would for table service? I find it indulgent

Very nice staff and coffee is great quality!
My family loves this bakery, and we’ve made it a weekend tradition to stop by for fresh bread. The quality is always excellent, which is why this recent change has been so disappointing.

HI-Rise Bread Company is a West Cambridge Cafe with an artisanal charm. The cafe offers a variety of breakfast sandwiches and pastries, with a dedicated section for baking fresh bread. The atmosphere is rustic yet refined. The sandwiches like the Hungry Pickle and Luke Rocks the Free World are crispy and satisfying. The pastries, such as the Orange Coconut and Maple Pecan Scones, are moist, buttery, and well-crafted. Prices can be high, but ordering online provides price transparency. While the cafe no longer offers gluten-free options, it remains a good spot to enjoy coffee with friends. Be prepared for a wait for the sandwiches, but the quality makes it worth the patience. The Thai iced tea is very aromatic and perfectly sweet, a unique and delicious drink. The ham, butter, and Swiss lunchie is delicious, with bread that has a slight crisp on the outside and is wonderfully chewy. The cookies are great, and the lemon cake is phenomenal. The ginger snaps are delicious. The staff were super informative and helpful.
