Came for ice cream at Gerly’s but left with an Ube Iced Latte. Delicious Filipino desserts and drinks.
Ube all day!!! 💜 Finally checked out Ube Kafe in Somerville and it did not disappoint. We tried the ube tiramisu, ube cookies, ube coffee, and a few other treats and everything was so good. Such a fun spot if you love ube or just want to try something different. Definitely worth checking out and I’ll absolutely be back! 🥰

Kuya Jays is a fun spot to try everything ube. The cafe is located in the Foundry, near the entrance, with a bright and spacious seating area inside a new office building. It wasn't too crowded, making it easy to find a spot. Most drinks focus on ube, but the flavors can be a bit weak, and some, like the latte, are overwhelmed by coffee. The ube matcha is decent, though the ube flavor isn't very strong, and the ube rice krispy was a solid treat but lacked enough ube flavor. The food menu includes Filipino dishes and longganisa sausage, which are perfectly executed, and the fried lumpia was super crispy and fresh. The place is highly recommended for the food, though the drinks could be dialed up for more flavor. Service is generally quick and friendly, with a couple of benches and seating options available, making it easy to grab a spot. The cafe is known for its cool concept and great vibes, especially with their sweets like ube sweet rolls. Despite some issues with the drink flavors, many visitors enjoy the atmosphere and food, and it's seen as a great addition to Cambridge.
