“Out for a Friday after Christmas drive and we came across the Picket Fence for breakfast. I am in love with this place! The building is quaint both inside and out. It has such a welcoming feel. The servers were friendly and attentive and the food was yummy! Although we live about 30 minutes away, we will definitely be coming back! 👍👍”

“We stopped in to grab a pepperoni pizza. The dining area was fairly small, with only two booths that could seat about eight people total. Despite the limited seating, the service was quick and efficient. Our pizza was ready in about 15 minutes, and it was delicious. The food was definitely the highlight of the visit, and we’d happily stop by again.”

“Picked up a Bolognese pizza for takeout from Pizzeria Bruno in Sutton & wow — comfort food done right 🍕✨ A rich, slow-cooked meat sauce spread generously over a perfectly crisp base, bubbling mozzarella, & that unmistakable just-out-of-the-oven aroma that fills the car on the drive home. Every bite was hearty, savoury, & seriously satisfying — the kind of pizza that feels like a warm hug after a long day. Simple, indulgent, & absolutely worth the takeaway run. “We didn't have time to have lunch before the Indian Ranch Maverick's Concerts on Saturday so we were starving after the Concert. Our other "go to Restaurant, The Lodge was closed and For Sale so we went to Saloon 6! The packing lot was packed so we thought we would never be able to get in and have lunch, but after a short 15 minute wait were seated. Very friendly Waitresses Fun Atmosphere and awesome food! We both had the Burgers which were delicious as were the french fries. Wish there was a Saloon 6 near Marblehead!”

“Had a great Chocolate Chip here the past couple of years, and it's my go-to. Seriously delicious. Most recently, I decided to try the Rocky Road and was sadly disappointed. For some reason, they added almond extract - much too much almond extract that left bitter notes lingering on the palette. Unfortunately this overpowered everything else including the chocolate; a chocolate based ice cream should be chocolate forward. Instead of actual toasted almonds, which would have given that pleasing pop of nutty almond flavor, they used walnuts that, naturally, got soft and spongy. I had to try and figure out what that strange texture was that I was biting into. The marshmallow was some sort of sauce, had a very slimey mouth feel to it, and there was way too much in it turning the cone into a slimy, instead of creamy, treat. I don't think I've ever thrown out ice cream before until then. And it makes me sad because it's so simple to make an excellent Rocky Road. I honestly believe I chose the worst possible alternative, and thats completely on me (but if you want to bring someone you hate a treat, bring them this one).

“First time at First Bite today for brunch - everything we ordered was excellent. Our new favorite breakfast spot. Flights of waffles, pancakes and french-toast, eggs-benedict (Irish) with corned beef hash and what had to be a homemade english muffin, bagel breakfast egg & cheese sandwich and junior breakfast with CRISPY BACON - they asked how you want it regular or crispy. Love THAT. And the hollandaise sauce spot on! Great coffees too.”

“We had a massive snowstorm over the weekend that canceled my daughter’s sixth birthday party, and she woke up absolutely heartbroken. In a last-minute Hail Mary, I called The Rose Room Cafe to see if there was ANY chance a few kids could come in for cake, presents, and a little celebration to lift her spirits. They didn’t hesitate—they were incredibly accommodating and let us use their beautiful space on short notice. The team was so warm, flexible, and genuinely kind; they truly went above and beyond to make sure my little girl felt special on her big day. The cozy, welcoming atmosphere was perfect for our small group, and it turned what could have been a sad day into a magical, memorable one. The Rose Room isn’t just a great cafe with amazing coffee, scratch-made treats, and local vibes—they’re a community gem that cares deeply about the people around them. I owe them big time and can’t thank them enough. If you’re in the area, support this wonderful spot—you won’t find kinder people or a warmer place. Highly recommend! “There is never a dull moment at the tavern. I’ve been frequenting this place for over 10 years at this point. They have an incredible blues jam on Sundays with the hottest house band in town. It’s been going on for nearly 20 years. A good friend of mine hosts the open mic on Thursday nights, and they have a great format you can play as a solo artist or you can do an open jam. They have a very affordable wing special on Wednesdays. The atmosphere is lively and fun. I’ve made friends with some of the regulars. Some of them have been coming to the same bar for 50 years. The owner Robyn is very friendly and hard-working. Her whole family is invested in the business and I really appreciate that, having worked in the service industry for a long time. What are you waiting for? Go down to the roadhouse!”
