“Out for a Friday after Christmas drive and we came across the Picket Fence for breakfast. I am in love with this place! The building is quaint both inside and out. It has such a welcoming feel. The servers were friendly and attentive and the food was yummy! Although we live about 30 minutes away, we will definitely be coming back! 👍👍”

“Just moved into the area & tried for the first time. WOW......just WOW! I got 4 orders of fish & chips, which were ready in about 10 minutes. Be Warned: this is a cash only establishment, but it is totally worth it! My family raved about the quality....my only gripe is I was too late to try the clam cakes, because they were sold out. “Will forever choose Douglas house of pizza the food is great and when I ordered the owner called me and profusely apologized because he did not have a driver, it’s happened a time or two before and usually I go and pick it up, tonight I just really wasn’t feeling like going out again so I was going to cancel the order, instead he offered to hand deliver it himself after working a long day! We are so so grateful for such an awesome place in town!!”

“My experiences at this location seem to be the exception based on other reviews. Whether I go inside or order at the drive thru, my orders come out really good. There was only one time when the drive thru was slow but from what I observe anytime I go, I’m pretty sure this particular location is consistently understaffed and has only one or two employees working which stinks if you have several customers at a time.”

“We didn't have time to have lunch before the Indian Ranch Maverick's Concerts on Saturday so we were starving after the Concert. Our other "go to Restaurant, The Lodge was closed and For Sale so we went to Saloon 6! The packing lot was packed so we thought we would never be able to get in and have lunch, but after a short 15 minute wait were seated. Very friendly Waitresses Fun Atmosphere and awesome food! We both had the Burgers which were delicious as were the french fries. Wish there was a Saloon 6 near Marblehead!”

“There is never a dull moment at the tavern. I’ve been frequenting this place for over 10 years at this point. They have an incredible blues jam on Sundays with the hottest house band in town. It’s been going on for nearly 20 years. A good friend of mine hosts the open mic on Thursday nights, and they have a great format you can play as a solo artist or you can do an open jam. They have a very affordable wing special on Wednesdays. The atmosphere is lively and fun. I’ve made friends with some of the regulars. Some of them have been coming to the same bar for 50 years. The owner Robyn is very friendly and hard-working. Her whole family is invested in the business and I really appreciate that, having worked in the service industry for a long time. What are you waiting for? Go down to the roadhouse!”

In a last-minute Hail Mary, I called The Rose Room Cafe to see if there was ANY chance a few kids could come in for cake, presents, and a little celebration to lift her spirits. They didn’t hesitate—they were incredibly accommodating and let us use their beautiful space on short notice. The team was so warm, flexible, and genuinely kind; they truly went above and beyond to make sure my little girl felt special on her big day. The cozy, welcoming atmosphere was perfect for our small group, and it turned what could have been a sad day into a magical, memorable one. The Rose Room isn’t just a great cafe with amazing coffee, scratch-made treats, and local vibes—they’re a community gem that cares deeply about the people around them. “Recently I had a surprise 70th birthday for my husband at the Sturbridge Rod and Gun club. They did the catering and set up for me. They were amazing to work with. Absolutely everyone said how great the food was. I dealt with Lisa who was such a pleasure to work with. Everything was as they said and were punctual.
