The Portuguese

I placed an order this weekend for my husband birthday party. The restaurant was well recommended from a friend of mine. Their quality is amazing and I couldn't be happier with my choice.I would like to mention that they have an Excellent customer service, Célia always answered my questions right away, helped me with all the details, from choosing the dishes to delivery. The food is great. If you don't feel like cooking it is an easy spot to grab a hearty protein and add your own sides at home or vice versa. Everything I have tried has been great including items as simple as beans, rice, and plantains are excellent. A couple of areas for improvement: 1) the lighting in there is awful. They have a nice large, clean, dining area with large windows but the lighting is similar to that of a doctor's office--just not inviting. 2) dishes lack information...read full review

Dined solo tonight at my favorite new restaurant on the Upper Cape--The Portuguese on Route 28 in Davisville (Falmouth). This was my 5th visit to the Portuguese since I posted my first review back at the beginning of May. Tonight I went to try a specific dish which The Portuguese had been teasing on their FB page for the last week or so--"Chick Peas with Pork a Alentejo."
