Ikigai was on my to-go list for a while and I’m so glad I finally went. I got there at opening and there was already a long line but I did not mind the wait it since it was in a lovely rose garden! I got a Vietnamese coffee and a strawberry matcha within 30 minutes of arriving. This was the best matcha I have ever had and the coffee was insanely good as well. I plan on being there every Sunday now to try everything!
I got the gen matcha latte with oatmilk and it was creamy, unami, sweet and robust in flavor. I think people need to keep in mind that this isn't your Starbucks matcha and there's a lot more detail that goes into their drinks. I had an in depth conversation with one of the girls, they are very knowledgeable in where they source their matcha powder and the flavor profile of the matcha they use, it truly is a craft and art with what they do.
