“For years, I breezed past this spot, assuming it was just and old convenience store. Little did I know, I was missing out on some good sandwich deals. A few months back, I discovered they were slinging subs, so I stopped by a couple times to grab some cold subs.

P&K has been a neighborhood fixture for over seven decades, and you can feel that old-school charm the moment you meet the owner. He’s the kind of guy who’s always friendly and never skimps on the toppings—generosity is clearly baked into the business. While the sandwiches aren’t quite the size of Al’s famous subs, they still pack great value, and honestly, they’re hefty enough that I rarely manage to finish one for breakfast. My favorites so far were the seafood salad and the classic Italian sandwich.

Definitely recommend stopping by if you’re looking for no-frills, classic Italian subs. Just keep in mind that the hot subs aren’t usually available until after 10am.“

Then in June, I needed a last minute gluten free entree, and the team put together a beautifully garnished pan of gluten free roasted chicken that was delicious. “I tried this place yesterday for the first time and I am so impressed! So far I’ve had the tabbouleh, the Israeli salad, baked fish with veggies, challah and chocolate babka and they were all so, go good! I still have frozen soups and a mushroom pot pie to try and can’t wait to eat my way through them this week for lunch. The fish was so good I can hardly believe it was frozen. My daughter kept asking for bites so I will be sure to buy multiple next time. I’ve been meaning to try this place and wish I’d gotten here sooner. They are gluten and dairy free and mostly meat free as well. A lot of their ingredients are organic and they use quality oil. They were telling me while I was there that they grind some of their flours in house. You can taste the quality! It’s so nice to have a safe, healthy and DELICIOUS option for take out! This place is worth the trip and I will absolutely be back. 😊“

“Was the first place we ate during out first trip to Boston, and was just a good, solid sandwich to have after traveling all day. There was not one weakness in that sandwich. The onion rings were pipping hot, crispy, and BIG. If we ever make it back to this area we will definitely stop by.“

“Ate here on vacation twice and the family loved it. Breakfast was great- I had the breakfast sandwich and the kids had pancakes. Lunch had many unexpected items. I had the musaka, which I had no idea what it was, but it was amazing. The guys working the counter bantered and were a ton of fun.“

“Was greeted promptly and in a friendly manner as soon as I walked in the door. Pamela was so helpful and SO accommodating. Had a hot italian sausage sub with peppers and onions and the flavor was to die for and I will definitely go back. The bread was from the bakery next door - Piantadosi's and was fresh as can be. That is the bread we buy at home as well. Nice butchery shop was plenty to choose from.“

“We have been getting subs from Boyles since I was a child over 5 decades. They have always been consistent and can honestly say that they have the best Italian subs I’ve eaten. I hadn’t eaten there since we moved away and miss the taste of their subs. The large deluxe Italian has all the Italian meats you would want. It was huge. Deli sized Pepperoni, hot cappacola, mortadella, salami. They cut their meat thick too and use cubed veggies which I feel is a must on an Italian sub. Kudos for Boyles for their consistency through the years and always making subs my family loves.“

“This place has been a Gem growing up. You get massive bon mes for very good prices. I got a giant beef barbecue bon me for only $8 tax included. They don’t skimp on the meat and you’re always filled up by the end of your meal. Additionally the flavor is just right, it’s hits every time. The only thing to be wary of is that they are cash only! Other than that I highly recommend!“
