“got takeout, went home and egg foo yong had no gravy on it. Called them up and told them about that. Not even two minutes later the woman called back and stated that's the way they make it! I have had this numerous times and there was always brown gravy on it and in container! She was very argumentative. For that reason , we will not be going back! DO BETTER!“

“What a hidden gem. I am surprised that people are not lining up outside their door to eat there. In my opinion they have some of the best Chinese food I ever had. We had the garlic eggplant and the Stir fried Tofu. The two dished were perfectly done in both taste and texture. Very reasonable prices as well. This is the second time we were there and plan to go back many more times.“

“Great prices and quality. The food is always fresh, never greasy, not loaded with sodium, plenty of options. My favorite is the Appetizer Lunch or Dinner, you pick 3 and can add extra ones for a modest price. It's a mini PuPu platter with none of the things you don't want. Everyone in my office LOVES this place. We stopped ordering from the local well known place, both have excellent food, but again, love the options and price.“

The food is still amazing The portions are more than enough you’ll have leftovers The owners are very sweet respectful always attentive to your needs always checking if everything is OK. The food is fresh hot Definitely visit every time in town.“
“Their orange chicken is to die for! Not too sweet, not too sourly. Also we took teriyaki chicken which was decent as well. A small restaurant, we didn’t face any crowd when we went there which is quite unexpected considering the time was weekend afternoon in Salem! The price is most reasonable as well!“

“Tried it for the first time today. I really enjoyed the Hot Sour hand pulled noodle soup. I got extra noodles and medium spice. I will definitely be ordering again. The broth was packed with flavor, it all arrived hot and well packed. Give it a try.“

“I know every Chinese restaurant was mobbed yesterday on NYE 12/31/25. On Tuesday 1/30 I placed a phone ordered with Hong Kong Cafe II in Peabody for a 530 pm pickup on NYE. I got there early and the place was mobbed. They called out peoples names as orders where ready. After 30-40 mins of waiting, we determined my phone order was lost, so they took my order on the spot, and prepared it, which was ready in about 10 mins. The food was piping hot and absolutely delicious when I got home. I called the restaurant to compliment them today 1/1/26.“

“China wok is the only restaurant I’ve ever been to that gets it right & is 10/10 100% of the time. The staff is fantastic. The food is just as amazing. I moved away a few years back and I constantly crave & miss their food. Their crab rangoon is truly unmatched & I’ve yet to find anyone’s who comes close. If you have the ability to stop in, please do it for those of us previously loyal customers that cannot!“

“I always order out for my family the food is delicious especially there house special fried rice that is so flavorful and bbq spareribs isn’t to sweet it’s just right there is always an abundance of food. Best Chinese food I’ve tasted in lynn. Chicken wings are in some type of breading not like the other places were you can see the hairs on the chicken.I’ve been loyal and stick to this spot as I’ve tried others and food doesn’t compare . Owner is so sweet and it’s family owned they work very hard !!!“

“After having visited several less then satisfactory Chinese food restaurants, my mother and I decided to try the Eighty Eight. The food was delicious. We were very pleasantly surprised. We opted to eat in, which we both enjoyed. It's a great (very clean) place to spend a quiet meal with a friend or loved one. You can stay as long as you want, and the owners/staff were very nice.“

“I come from Lowell where there is Chinese food all over the place. To find a chi a star reminds me of home. Also my daughter has an egg allergy along with other items. They must have written down on a note next to our phone number about the allergy because they mentioned it before we did. They had no problem being extra cautious preparing my daughter's plate. That made me feel like they care for their customers like family. I thank them for being about their custo.ers. this will always be out go to spot! Much love China star methuen.“
