“If you're getting breakfast in Southie...scratch that, if you're getting breakfast in Boston, it should be HERE. There are very few joints left that evoke the immediate sense of comfort when walking in - it's good and honest food, and great prices, with incredible staff. The corned beef hash, breakfast sandwiches, omelets, and coffee are something you go to bed looking forward to eating them in the morning.“
“Does Joe's really need an introduction? It's been the same small coffee/breakfast joint for like 60 years, there must be a reason. The owners are basically your grandparents, except they can cook better than them. (Even if you don't want to admit it.) They are super friendly and won't hesitate to tell you their story. The hash and eggs were phenomenal, my friend said, "it was the best french toast I have ever eaten." Also the home fries are all hand cut. It's a tight place with a couple tables and some bar stools to overlook where the magic happens. Check it out, don't just drive by ✌️“
“Love this place. The only only thing I ask from them is to not use styrofoam containers. Their portions are massive and the container I got my food in for leftovers had flaky bits of plastic inside of it. Please consider switching to another material for take out/leftover boxes“
“If your in south Boston this is your spot for breakfast. They have really generous portions and the food tastes good. The prices are the best prices I've seen in a long time at a restaurant/diner. I'd definitely eat here again the next time I'm in the area.“
“Stopped by for a bite of lunch after a doctor's appointment. My first time there and was pleasantly surprised! Old school diner atmosphere and home style food!I had a simple 2 hotdogs and fries plate and hubby got the stuffed peppers....and both were delicious !Looking forward to trying out more of their menu cause it ALL looked good!!!“
“A nostalgic deli experience in Inman Square. As the oldest restaurant in Cambridge, S&S has cemented its status as a beloved local spot that serves a wide range of classic deli fares. l came here for lunch a few times and always had a satisfying experience.Among the appetizers, the Chopped Liver was my favorite. Although it was unexpectedly paired with pineapple and melon slices - a combination that didn't entirely complement the inherent sweetness of the liver spread - it was still enjoyable when paired with crackers and red onions. Bathed in their signature sauce, the S&S Fried Shrimp was also good. The sauce leaned more towards sweet rather than spicy, but the jumbo shrimp was still nice and crispy. The Seared Tuna Salad was fairly basic, but with its generous portions, it was an ideal choice for a hearty meal. Corned Beef Reuben came with perfectly toasted marble rye bread, and the corned beef itself was solid. One of the biggest perk of S&S is their own free parking lot, but empty spaces might be hard to come by during peak lunch hours.Overall, a great spot that provides a slice of the city’s culinary history with the timeless appeal of a classic deli. If you’re looking for a comforting meal with a warm, nostalgic atmosphere, I highly recommend giving them a try.Parking: Free street parking lot (enter via Hampshire st)Paid parking lot next to Olé (Springfield st)Paid street parking on Cambridge St & Hampshire st“
“They don't have wait staff. You order when you come in. I am handicapped they brought me my food. They don't have a restroom. Food is great, large portions for the price and very good value. They are closed on SundayDietary restrictions: Very helpful I am diabetic they have a lot of sugar free options.“
“Had a wonderful time at the Salt... didnt know there was a good diners in Hull anymore and was going to drop by the bakery. Real sausage, bacon, ect . Fisherman portions high in fat and everything else bad for you. Pancakes were tasty.Eggs cooked to order. Enjoyed every mouth full. Off to the beach to walk it off“
“Clearly, I love pizza. At the same time, when I rate places, I try to be completely inclusive of the entire experience. The Pleasant has been a staple in my life since 1977 - 40 years after they opened their doors.I love the Pleasant for so many reasons. First and foremost, I love that the staff remember the “regulars” - including us , who took a two year hiatus with the pandemic. I appreciate that servers and others come sit with us to chat and check in- never imposing or over staying. I appreciate the abundance of free parking. I LOVE THAT THEY HAVE THE COLDEST (AND LEAST EXPENSIVE BOTTLED BEER IVE EVER HAD!) I want to know how they do it.Actually, maybe even more - we love the multiple options- prime rib being a favorite- raviolis come in as a tie - not to mention the chicken parm. BUT - even more - always opt in for the complementary bread!! Amazing- delicious- melts softly in your mouth- inevitably leaving you craving/ asking for more! The Pleasant is A REAL GEM!“
“The first time we went the service was awesome. The second time the waitress seemed very lazy. I watched my husband’s food come out and it sat there for longer than 5 minutes before she even tried to see if our food was ready to be served. But besides my once encounter with one lazy waitress the food is absolutely amazing and the staff are friendly.“
“Food is decently priced compared to the area. The Carne Asada plate is not their forte but they do have great burgers and omelets. No truck parking. You can park on the side of the road but it's not that convenient. They do have delivery however and they're fast and friendly. If you're delivering to the Boston Market or the New England Market then hit this place up for a nice freshly cooked meal.“
“One of my all time favorite diners. Always busy but it moves pretty quickly. The staff are really friendly. The food is so delicious. I highly recommend getting a bagel seared on the grill. The corned beef hash is really good. Quite peppery and great with the potatoes. Clam chowder is also “
“Cozy Cambridge diner that is fairly well priced given the area. The coffee is fine. We recommend the eggs Benedict. We do not recommend the haddock sandwich because we didn’t care much for the breading. Staff are friendly. This spot does not feel touristy. It’s on the bottom level of the building but it has a ramp if someone can’t do stairs.“
“Great local style diner. Although it looks closed it is very much open. Nothing is spectacular but everything is pretty good, and the service is great. Cash only is a bit of a pain. The veggie omelet is very good. I suggest ordering your home fries well done.“
“It was extremely perfect, I traveled from Brazil to the USA and one of my biggest desires was to eat at Victoria's, the space is beautiful, it looks like something out of an old movie, we were served by a recently hired guy, he was super kind and helpful, but not I couldn't help but notice the service provided by the waitress Carol, who has worked there for many years, I found her very sweet and I simply loved the fact that she still writes down orders on paper, they should all be like this, it makes the experience even more traditional! When I return to Boston, I will have coffee there again! ❤️“
“Wanted to stop by for some time now, finally did, my son, friend of mine and myself, walked into a full picturesque old school diner and had a table within 5 minutes, food was great and staff was smiling, will definitely return, hope the landlord smartens up and leaves them be.“
