“It’s a small cozy café with around 5 to 6 tables inside probably can fit around 20 people at Max, but it had one of the best kunefe I’ve had in recent times! I’m so interested in trying the lamachun next time and a bunch of other Turkish dishes. I’ll definitely be back.! I also felt the pricing was relatively more affordable than a lot of other Mediterranean places.“

“I’ve been eating here for a long time and generally enjoy the food. The chicken is flavorful, and it’s one of my favorite peri-peri spots. However, there are a few areas that could be improved. The rice and chicken portions are often quite small, and the rice is not always fresh. At the same time, the salad portions tend to be very large compared to the rice. A better balance between the sides and more consistent freshness would make the overall experience even better.“

“This is the best experience I've had at a restaurant in a while. It's snowing like crazy and it's freezing outside where I've been working all morning my brother surprised me and had me meet him here for my birthday and I've never been here before. First Juan Carlo was very hospitable and gracious with his greeting and said it your cold and not getting food you can just warm up but we were going to dine so we ordered and Juan Carlo made feel special and great on my birthday they made this a birthday to remember I would tell anyone I know and I will that this location is one of a kind and you should definitely come for the experience and the food is amazing as well!! “If you had told me my biggest highlight of flying into town this weekend to shoot exterior scenes for an upcoming horror film wouldn't be the set, but a chicken joint in Saugus, I would’ve called you crazy. But here we are.

I’ve seen the videos online for ages and it always piqued my interest. We might have some hiding down home in South Carolina, but the Saugus crew just made a lifelong fan out of me. Being completely new to the menu, the guy at the counter broke it down for me. Then, my eyes locked onto it: REAPER.

Fun fact about me—pain is the name of my game. I am an absolute sucker for the spiciest things you can possibly throw at me (for context, my current record is the Toe of Satan lollipop at 9 million Scoville units). So naturally, I was ready to dive face-first into the Reaper. But homeboy looked out for me BIG time. He gave me the ultimate insider tip: go with the Extra Hot first for the flavor, then tackle the Reaper.

He was not wrong. This was easily some of the most delicious food I've ever had. I still signed the waivers—one for the store, one for me to keep as a souvenir—and they hooked me up with some Carolina fries to try, which I devoured like candy. For the normal crowd, yeah, it’s got a massive kick. But for me? It was pure perfection.

I don’t think they’ve ever seen someone absolutely champ their way through that without breaking a sweat. I could see the literal shock in their eyes, and honestly, I don't blame them! I’m an outsider just rolling through town, but that large Extra Hot meal was a flawless 10 out of 10. I am so glad I trusted my gut instinct to finally try this place, and even happier that this location was my first introduction to the brand.

Amazing food and an amazing experience, but most importantly, an incredible staff. Huge shoutout to the absolute dream team working the floor: Tico, Olivea, Chad, David, Jessica, Oswaldo, and Betty. You guys made a chaotic travel and film weekend unforgettable. I fly back home tomorrow, but I have more scenes to shoot in the area in a few months. Let's be real: even if I didn't have a movie to film, I’d fly back just to eat here. If you haven't been yet, fix that immediately. The pizza is great, but the Mediterranean food is where they shine. When the owner discovered I was vegetarian, he personally invited me back the next day for the best falafel sandwich I have ever tasted (on the house!). She took the time to walk us through the menu, gave great recommendations based on what we were in the mood for, and checked in just the right amount - never too much, never too little. “Tried the buffet on the weekend. The cost vs food is amazing! They had a good spread of food, that they would refill quickly. Fresh naan for the table is also really great. The place was clean and comfortable. I would recommend going 15-20 minutes early on weekends cause there could be a short wait. Overall, worth the cost and the trip to kenmore.“

“Love the food. Remind me of my mom's food which is highest level of compliment anyone can provide. Food has always been fresh, I have eaten inside and got it delivered through Uber eats and door dash. Food quality has been consistent. I ordered from this place quite a lot. Keema, Nihari, Naan, Butter Chicken, Chicken Tikka Masala, Achari Gosht, Chicken Curry, Goat Curry, Beef Curry, Biryani, Chapli Kebab, Pakoras. All of these dishes are highly recommended. I wish they actually gave more raita and green chutney, they definitely are stingy on it lol.“

“I had just missed my flight back home and after 5 hours at the airport things began to look rather grim. I then decided to take a walk and by complete luck happened to use this location as a pickup spot for my Uber. What started as me wanting a small snack then turned into a newfound appreciation for Somali cuisine and an eating experience I will have yet to forget. Tawakal Halal gave me the best food and service in about 14 minutes than other establishments have managed to give me in an hour, so great in fact, that I wouldn’t have forgiven myself if I didn’t go a second time before I left. The food by itself is beyond amazing and I could write a whole review entirely on how great the food is, however, my personal favorites were the Goat Biryani and the Halwa as an excellent dessert option after. In addition to the food, the service here was amazing as well. The staff were always making sure I had everything I needed and doing everything they could to make my experience there a pleasant one, even offering me tea as I waited for my Uber. All in all, the best way I could describe this café to anyone wanting to know more about it is that it is truly everything you could ever ask for in a dining experience: fantastic food and amazing service. It even no longer made me upset that I missed my flight that day for if I hadn’t, I would have never been able to find this gem of a café. “We usually order from a different Shawarma place in Somerville, but decided to give Sam's a try. The food was very good, and in good sized portions. They were good about following requests to leave things out of the wraps. Note that they do the style with fries on the side rather than in the wrap. My only complaint is that they list some, but not all, of the ingredients on their site. So if you have things you can't eat, I definitely recommend calling them to double check. My partner can't do creamy sauces, and they listed tahini sauce but not garlic sauce in the lamb/beef shawarma, which ended up being a problem. Not a huge thing, just annoying that they make it look like everything is listed when it isn't.“

“On one of the first days at my company, a colleague took me to the old New York Deli on Temple Street and introduced me to Kadhim. I couldn't understand why he would take the time - it's not like this guy is going to remember me out of all of the people who come through there. My mistake - every time I would see him over the years, at whatever location, Kadhim would come from behind the counter and greet me by name like an old friend. Understand - he was told my name once, over 20 years ago. I don't even go out to lunch very often - sometimes it would be years between visits to one of the Falafel King locations. But every time I enter, it's a big smile and greeting and an expression of appreciation that cannot be faked...go check them out!“
