“This is exactly what you want for a takeout Turkish place with a dine-in option. The plates are huge and the food is delicious. (Pictured is the shawarma plate.) The "mixed grill" plate is really for 2 people, I promise. Loved this place.“
“Ahmed, the owner, is a great and generous man. He has created a perfect place if you want to go somewhere with a great atmosphere, where the staff is friendly and accommodating to all needs. I have been there a few times now and every time have felt welcome, and have been served excellent food. Their breakfast sandwiches are perfect if you need a quick bite to eat before work, or if you go for lunch their menu is excellent offering a wide variety of selections. I honestly would recommend this establishment to anyone looking for something great to eat in the Brighton area of Boston.“
“First time ordering from here & I was very satisfied with the wait times, food & friendliness by the cashiers & cooks. Atmosphere here is really good & I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who likes Mediterranean food or wants something fresh & made with love!“
“They added a self order kiosk right when you walk in so saves time from waiting in line to order. Best part is still being able to get your own sauce so you can get a variety or a little bit of each one for enhanced flavor. They always keep it clean inside and the sauce counters are always clean.“
“I went to this place twice and was able to try the medium, hot, extra hot, and reaper levels of spice. I love the taste of the chicken (ordered the sliders) and the fries are great as well. Service is good, very fast after ordering. I will say the Reaper lives up to it's reputation. After eating the extra hot which was the just right level of spice for me, I thought I could handle the Reaper. After a couple bites I knew this was bigger jump from the extra hot than I thought it would be. Ended up finishing it but was sweating and a little dizzy. Had to run to the Starbucks next door to order a latte to cool myself down. I like the challenge though may try again sometime :)“
“Called yesterday for an appointment and was able to get it for the following morning! Tyrone and Kevin inspected and cleaned my chimney. They arrived within the block of time and were very professional and polite. Tyrone explained why the 4 walls needed to be replaced along with the rusted cap. He showed me the picture of the rusted cap. He called and arranged for the next appointment. They also put a tarp down and cleaned the area before leaving.“
“Incredible food — some of the best tikka kebab and falafel we’ve had in a lonngggg time. Super authentic, local, incredibly friendly and delicious. There’s nothing more I love than finding a great hole in the wall and this is it. MUST get the baklava.Vegetarian options: Falafel“
“An authentic kebob odyssey in Watertown.I’ve been on a hunt for good kebob recently and stumbled upon this spot. Since Watertown is known to have some of the most authentic kebob experiences in the Greater Boston area, I had high hopes, and Roksana’s lived up to that. When I first tried their signature Koobideh, I was absolutely blown away. These minced beef kebobs were juicy, flavorful, and impeccably cooked. The addition of egg yolk brushed pita bread, coupled with the simple perfection of rice and tomatoes, made the experience even more satisfying. On my subsequent visits, I also had the lamb and beef soltanis. Beef kabob was slightly better, but both were good.In their refrigerated section, they also have some good yogurt spreads. So far, I’ve tried the eggplant and shallot spread, and although a tad more expensive, the eggplant spread definitely stood out more with its subtle smokiness. If you’re planning a visit, just make sure that you place the order via phone in advance as it might take around 20 minutes for the food to get ready. While the journey to get there might be a bit lengthy, the destination will be worth every mile traveled.“
“Food is great, the taste of the lamb & beef shawarma was good and the portion was big. The falafel here are actually authentic and well made. A little bit pricier, but they got to cover the costs. The place is popular, with a lot of people ordering take-out or delivery drivers picking up food. The guy behind the counter is friendly, hard working, and kind. He made the shawarma perfectly and efficiently. Worth stopping by if you're in Somerville.“
“I'm absolutely smitten with this place! The falafels were bursting with flavor and had the perfect texture. Though the wrap was a bit too moist for me, it didn't ruin the experience. Plus, you get generous portions at reasonable prices. Can't wait to go back!“
“Silk Road has become our family's go-to spot whenever we're craving something special. We've lost count of the number of times we've dined here, but every visit feels like a new adventure. We have tried almost everything on the menu and it never disappoints. And guess what? Our kids are totally into it too! Sure, some dishes can pack a bit of heat, but just give the server a heads up.The place is limited in space and they do not take reservations so sometimes it feels like a bit of a squeeze. But hey, that's part of the charm, right? Just be prepared for a bit of a tight squeeze, especially if you're rolling in with a big crew.Overall, Silk Road gets a big thumbs up from us. Whether you're a die-hard fan of Uyghur food or just looking for a fun family outing, this place won't disappoint.“
“Well seasoned and delicious. My first time going it tasted like comfort food already. Friendly staff in a quiet atmosphere. I got the mint tea which was extremely refreshing and unsweetened. Bonus points for playing a rerun of an old baseball game.“
“This is such a wonderful addition to the halal food scene in Boston! This restaurant is tucked away, in a small Asian food court, and is a hidden gem! The food portions are large, and each entree is fresh and packed with a bunch of flavor (and “spicy” is actually spicy here, haha). We ordered the Spicy Beef Noodles, Samsa, and Chicken entrees and they were wonderful! We will definitely be coming back soon!!!“
“A must-not miss restaurant! Physically, one of the most beautiful restaurants you will find. The service and presentation were excellent. Very family friendly. The bread is baked on premise in a wood oven. It is served with an array of dipping sauces. My companion and I each had Kourma Challow with Lamb. I had that feeling of: this food is so delicious that I want to eat every morsel, but the portions are so plentiful that I can't. Helmand is delightful!“
“Food was really good here! They cooked the chicken very well. I've been here twice already and the staff have been friendly and patient. Never had to wait too long for the food to be served (usually 10 minutes with other customers present). Everything on the menu is halal. Parking is convenient with a garage next door that allows up to 3 hours of free parking. Will definitely be visiting again!“
“My friend and I were craving Mediterranean food, so we decided to try Sufra - and it did not disappoint. Being from the Mediterranean myself, I am usually very critical of Mediterranean food, but this was truly amazing. Everything was so good, and I have to say the highlight of the meal was the baba ganoush and the shawarma. I had not had good shawarma in Boston until I tried Sufra's - it tasted so authentic and just like home! And the baba ganoush was to die for - the flavor was perfect. The staff are friendly, the food came quick, the portions are huge and the food is also decently priced. I had a very positive experience in Sufra - I will definitely be returning soon and I would recommend it to anyone looking for an authentic Mediterranean meal.“
“This Dave’s hot chicken location has an amazing atmosphere. I came here on a Tuesday afternoon looking for something quick to eat. The lady at the register took our order really quickly and our order came was ready in no time. I love the art on the walls which enhanced my dining experience. Overall this location is amazing and sanitary.“
“The service was great! The waitress even looked up Midnight at Pera Palace for me to see if there was going to be a season 2, since I can’t speak Turkish. The food was great and lasted the whole subway ride home. We got falafel and kabobs.“
“Food was very cold when I received it. The chicken wings I purchased tasted like rubber. My kids wouldn't even eat it. The pizza was just ok. I'll never order from them again when I'm in the area. Definitely better options around.I was able to talk to the owner and he made the situation right and the food was much better this time around. Thank you“
“Upon entering, the aroma of exotic spices and freshly baked bread wafts through the air, awakening your senses and igniting your appetite. The décor is a fusion of modern elegance and traditional charm, with intricately designed carpets adorning the floors and soft, ambient lighting casting a golden glow over the space. But it is the menu that truly steals the show. Bursting with an array of authentic Middle Eastern dishes, each offering is a masterpiece crafted with precision and passion. Begin your culinary adventure with an assortment of mezes, from creamy hummus and smoky baba ghanoush to crispy falafel and tangy tabbouleh, each bite bursting with flavor and freshness. For the main course, prepare to be transported to the streets of Beirut or the markets of Marrakech with an array of mouthwatering options. Indulge in tender lamb kebabs, succulent shawarma, or fragrant tagines, each dish a symphony of spices and textures that dance on your palate. No Middle Eastern feast would be complete without a sweet finale, and DARNA certainly delivers on that front. From decadent kunafa dripping with honey and nuts to creamy, rose-scented rice pudding, each dessert is a celebration of indulgence and tradition.“
“Jo's is one of the best Indian restaurants around. The service was excellent and the food was superb. The restaurant has a very warm, welcoming, serene atmosphere. I love this place! I don't understand why the ratings for this restaurant is not a lot higher, it should be a lot higher. Don't be deceived by the bad ratings and reviews. I recommend giving this place a try, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.“
“Excellent deep fried chicken in 7 levels of spiciness. Yes, level 7 had me in tears, so start at the midpoint and adjust from there. The bun, sauce, pickles, spiced aeoli for the fries all compliment the perfect crust and seasonings on the chicken. While product and service are stellar, the available seating fills up quickly, so take out is recommended during typical busy timesThe price point is on par for a premium chicken sandwich with fries. I haven't tried any of their other entrée offerings, so maybe someone should. I enjoyed what I tried and hope you do also.“
“Expand your culinary pallet with the cuisine at Ashur Restaurant. One thing is for sure each time you visit Asher: The food is delicious, and you are most certainly welcome. The sambusa are great! Don't forget to ask for the busbus sauce! The house sauce is homemade, and if you don't get it, you're severely missing out.If you haven't been here yet, you're missing an absolute gem. Come get some delicious, authentic cuisine ASAP.“
“Had to park far from passport office because of outrageous parking lot $$$.So glad I parked on Canal Street. Was going to grab a quick ? but then saw the Shawarma SPECIAL sign in window.Fresh, Flavorful and Served with a Smile...Get extra napkins, incredibly juicy....? Thanks For coming to work each day and Taking Pride in what you do....Definitely will come back.Parking: Have to drive around til something opens up.. or pay $$$ for lot space“
“I love the village kitchen. It's best to call and make sure they're open, but when they are- excellent food and wonderful service. It's not fast- sometimes there's just an owner working, but old fashioned attentiveness to food and drink done right. Excellent meats, pastas, and sandwiches, but especially eggplant parmesan. And espresso!“
“The food is good especially, Pizzas are so delicious. But need deep clean, so dirty. Bad example for other culture people when they visit (it's in downtown). The toilet faucet can be fixed for $50. Just look at YouTube and change buy yourself. Tables are so oily.“
“****Worth every single ounce of hype.**** The most important thing to note is the freshness. Everything tasted like it had been cooked to order. Their chicken is exactly what j*** chicken should be. The vegetables were thinly sliced but overcooked. My rice was soft and flavorsome. The j*** mac and cheese is actually a really well balanced dish. And they use cavatappi noodles so everything is wrapped in that ridiculously delicious sauce. They've got a new regular.“
“Are you ever looking for a place to eat after the bars lose their novelty? This is the spot. A place to sit, delicious food, high quality hummus, well seasoned meat, a burger that beats McDonald’s, and the vibe you need after a night out. Sober up, eat some delicious food and hang in a safe atmosphere with your friends. Would return, highly recommend.“
“Dayib Cafe exceeded our expectations! It's a hole-in-a-wall restaurant, so don't let the sparse decor scare you away. There is no menu because it's simple enough - choices of goat, lamb (shank or kabob), chicken, rice, spaghetti, and others we can't remember - to choose from. The chef immediately cooked our selections of lamb kabob and chicken with rice to order, and out came these massive platters of food! Each platter also came with fresh salad veggies and a stewed greens, potatoes and onions. So flavorful and would highly recommend the smoky red and bright green hot sauces if you want a good kick in your meal. We couldn't finish between the two of us, so if you order a platter, bring a healthy appetite. Cash only joint so be prepared! Can't wait to come back again soon!“
“I got two words for you: kebab pizza. It's not on the menu, but if you ask for it, they'll make - and it's damn delicious. This place is a knockout, good vegan options, and the Turkish-inspired flavors really zhuzh things up. If you're looking for some comfort food with style, Tarboosh has gotchu.“
“I recently tried the Lamb Kabob plate at this restaurant, and I must say, it was absolutely fantastic! The lamb was perfectly cooked, tender, and flavorful. The portion size was generous, and it came with a side of delicious rice and fresh salad, which complemented the dish perfectly. The service was friendly and attentive, adding to the overall great experience. I highly recommend trying this dish if you’re a fan of Mediterranean cuisine. Can’t wait to go back for more!“
“Yay finally had a chance to visit this place recently. There is free street parking in front of the restaurant, making the pickup process easy. It is a takeout only place for now. I originally tried my order on its website, but you cannot pay online. I then tried my order via the Yelp app. Unsurprisingly, the prices from Yelp order is higher than its website. It's common practice (higher charges on a third party platform), so I was fine with it. The Yelp app gave me an estimate on the order time, but didn't provide completion updates. By the time I got there, my food was already ready and waiting for me. The owner (I think) greeted me warmly. The food is very good! The price isn't "cheap", but you are supporting local businesses. I have to say the entrees are on the sweeter side. I don't normally have Moroccan food, so I'm not necessarily used to the taste. The Paprika's Moorish Grilled Wings were so so good! Overall, very good quality food! Highly recommend it!“
“Wonderful place to have halal food. The taste is really superb. Very courteous staff and very helpful. Decent seating area for dine in. The platter bowls are really superb. Falafel is also wonderful. Would definitely recommend anyone to try out the food here.“
“I love the food here! The lamb/chicken combo plate is especially yummy. Great mix of rice, veg, and meat. Appetizing, great portions, no complaints. The actual place is in a corner of a convenience store, but it is seriously some of the best food I've had around here.“
“Ten stars. Picked this place because they actually have toum, which most places downtown don't. 100% the right decision. Excellent food, very fresh and delicious. Great service and a very kind welcome. My only complaint is I live outside their delivery area.“
“I've passed this place a bunch of times in their old downtown location and I was always curious. I finally had the opportunity to come in today (to their new place at 92 Bedford street) and I was pleasantly surprised! I ordered a meat combo plate with lamb curry, mater paneer, naan bread, rice and a vegetable samosa and all were excellent! The samosa in particular I liked, it didn't taste frozen or old like they sometimes do. The lamb was tender and flavorful. The mater paneer was a little soupy but was still good and made a nice gravy for the rice. There aren't many options for Indian food in downtown so it's very nice to have this place to go to. I will definitely come back!“
“I have been enjoying Chicken and Rice guys since it was a line of food trucks!Whether you order from the kiosk or the counter the food comes out immediately - they know how to move the lunch crowd along. I always get the chicken on rice. And I usually get the garlic sauce, the barbeque sauce or some mix of the two. It's consistently good, but your other options are tofu or gyro - but I've never had either. They have cans of soda (coke company!) and some house made beverages. Always a delicious meal. This is the only brick and mortar location I've ever been to - and though I liked the Cheeseboy that was here years before, Chicken and Rice guys is a step up. (The cheeseboy lives on in a rectangular garbage slot in the center trashcan console that is the exact shape of the cheeseboy sandwich boxes)My less favorite things. The Kiosk is right in front of the door, so if a customer is slow at the kiosk, folks queue up and block the door. I'm also not a fan of the hard plastic to go containers.“
“We decided to take a walk through Everett and came here. Loved the Flatbread, very similar to an Indian paratha, which I never knew would taste so good with cream cheese and honey. The raisin danish was also amazing. Finally, the customer service was really nice. It can take time since only a few people work, but it's worth the wait.“
“We visited this place twice and are happy with menu & tasteHave given 3* for atmosphere as this place has a very less space between tables and too chaotic if only around 3 families dine in at the same timeMust try: Murchi bhajjiDo not order any indo Chinese as you will be disappointed“
“My mother decided for this Easter no one is cooking. So we decided to order from Nour Cafe. For 18 people we order 16 plates of mixed grill with salad & sauces on the side.Let me just say 16 plates was way too much. We ended up with so much left overs.I have to say. Best customer service from the 2 older male employees. They were all accommodating and friendly and knew exactly what I wanted to do for our event.I have attached a photo of our Easter tableThank you to the owners for a great service.*My mom made the tabouli, Mostly everything else was from Nour.“
“Their scallion lamb dish is superb. Complex flavors, intriguing vegetables and greens in the dish and highest quality lamb in generous quantities. A surprise and a pleasure. Be sure to order the side of rice. While the lamb skewers were also good - again the great lamb - be sure you like cumin - the predominant spice. Both are good, the scallion lamb, though, is great.“
“Absolutely wonderful Turkish restaurant just outside Davis Square. Definitely my favorite Turkish restaurant, and one of my all-time favorite restaurants, in the Boston area. The star of the show is the food, which is beautifully prepared and has many options for a wide variety of diets. Just go already!Vegetarian options: Plentiful vegetarian options! A bit more limited for vegans, but there are still some great options.“
“We didn't know what to expect from Pakistani Mexican cuisine but, damn, it was delicious! The staff was so kind, making us feel so welcome. We ordered the butter chicken, samosas, cheese naan (pretty much a less greasy quesadilla) and the mango lassi (mmmm that was a good mango lassi). Would go back - both for the food and the experience. Thanks!“
