“For years, I breezed past this spot, assuming it was just and old convenience store. Little did I know, I was missing out on some good sandwich deals. A few months back, I discovered they were slinging subs, so I stopped by a couple times to grab some cold subs.

P&K has been a neighborhood fixture for over seven decades, and you can feel that old-school charm the moment you meet the owner. He’s the kind of guy who’s always friendly and never skimps on the toppings—generosity is clearly baked into the business. While the sandwiches aren’t quite the size of Al’s famous subs, they still pack great value, and honestly, they’re hefty enough that I rarely manage to finish one for breakfast. My favorites so far were the seafood salad and the classic Italian sandwich.

Definitely recommend stopping by if you’re looking for no-frills, classic Italian subs. Just keep in mind that the hot subs aren’t usually available until after 10am.“

“Spectacular Sandwiches Reubans were spectacular. So delicious. Later that night we had two sandwiches ( that we saved for next day) a turkey and pastrami they we unbelievably great.
The girls behind counter were a pleasure. Evan you have a great business here. Can't wait to return. While I waited I had a bagel ....so good !!! Ten stars to you all !!!!!“

“Have been here a few times for lunch and I see why it is a staple in South Boston.

I'm a sucker for chicken cutlets so my two experiences and now go-tos for sandwiches were the Mamma Mia and Chicken Americano. The bread was so soft and fresh. Same goes for the chicken cutlets. Additionally they were thin, but hearty, crispy, yet juicy. Not only was the sandwich delicious, but was it filling. I am not a small guy and I had to wrap the second half of the sandwich up for later. This doubles the value as each sandwich is about $12, making it $6/meal if you split it in half, which will be a necessity if you add some chips and a beverage.

One small negative is their pizza. Being me, I have try a cheese slice wherever I see one available. It wasn't terrible but it wasn't great either, however, it's clear to me that you don't come to J Pace's for pizza.

If you're visiting Boston or live in and around Southie you got to stop by for a sandwich or maybe two. I'll be back soon and often!“

I’m not Polish, but my husband and kids are, so I cook the traditional Polish food. I will definitely keep coming back, so hard to find good authentic Polish food!!“

Went to Mike and Patty’s in high rise and they had no bacon so we left and found this place. 2 egg, toast, homefries and bacon with coffee for two was $20. Total. Had a hot italian sausage sub with peppers and onions and the flavor was to die for and I will definitely go back. The bread was from the bakery next door - Piantadosi's and was fresh as can be.
