“Real deal food. Absolutely full of soul and flavorful at every bite.
A bit informal in terms of sitting, which you’re welcome to order at the counter and eat there, the staff were warm and inviting. I tried The goat plate with fried plantains and black rice.
It was everything I thought it would be.

“Had my first visit to Bootleg Special last night and it did not disappoint. Every aspect of the meal, from the creative drinks to the delicious appetizers to the fantastic main course was outstanding. Our server, Alex, was attentive and very pleasant. And last, but certainly not least, the beignets after dinner were spectacular. Looking forward to my next visit!“

Have driven by hundreds of times......not sure what I was thinking....it took figuring out that you can't get Alaskan King crab legs at Legal Seafoods to force me to try this place out. Took an order to go. A+ yes messy....very messy the middle Hot sauce was excellent and everywhere. Good fun. Shared as an appetizer and we all agree Good stuff. They have "All you can Eat" on Sat and Sun I believe for $30 so a great deal. We will try again. Tiny place maybe 10-12 tables so use OpenTable. I tried Boston they did not have anything for 3-4 days at 7pm. Also had a Brookline reservation. There are ~24 locations in 8-10 states.“

“I got the crawfish boil bag and let me tell you, that sauce in the bottom of the bag was some of the best seafood boil I have ever had. Reminds me of the sauce a staff at my old school used to make. 10/10 no notes. The atmosphere was perfect, nice old pub vibes. And the service was top notch. Would definitely come again.“

“Tuesday 1/24/23 on my lunch break at work in beacon hill, ordering here for the first time . I went with the 5pc mix chicken with a honey biscuit, also ordered 3 honey biscuits side order. I got 2 thighs, 1breast, 1wing, 1drumstick. The chicken had a well balance seasoning, very crispy not covered in heavy batter, chicken was cooked fully and moist inside very tasty was very happy with the quality and tasty of chicken! The honey biscuits where delicious it was sweet with a glazed over the top they had blueberry’s inside and like a cake not dry and very good! If you haven’t tried this spot it’s a must TRY! “To the person who said the waiter said they ran out of sausage three days ago, was miss informed. They ran out t of sausage three years ago. My first visits ti the shaking crab in quincy I know they served sausage. After that came the hot dogs. Never ordered sausage again“

“Although this place no longer exists in the heart of Harvard Square, which was the mother location, sadly closed after the pandemic but two other locations have remained open one in Burlington and one in saugus. Always agree time and very accommodating to larger parties. Free chips and salsa and refills aren't necessarily something that every restaurant does anymore and if you're looking for a simple fun and tasty snack on meal this place is worth it. Fans of country music and blues music will love this place because they have been loyal to the music they've been playing over there sound system the last 30 some odd years. There's really no other Mexican / Cajun restaurant like the Border Cafe so if you ever on route 1 or find yourself in Burlington Mass or want to make the trip, if anything it's definitely a fun place to go.“

“The people are very friendly and kind. I needed to wait for a few hours until I could get into my AirBnb and they let me stay warm and cozy until I could go in. The only reason it's not 5 starts is because they food is not of my taste (taste is VERY subjective) and the door isn't the best letting all the heating go away as soon as someone comes in or out.“
