Had been there multiple times with good experience and my last experience was not so good. Service was slow and I barely got chance to talk to the waitress.
Good food for lobster roll and claim chowder. Perfect for eat and shop. Big outlet mall just across the street.
Legal Sea Foods - Somerville was amazing with food allergies (dairy, eggs, nuts, and gluten). They had dairy free buns and also gluten buns as well as dinner rolls. The chef got creative to make my dairy free/egg free lobster roll taste amazing. The food came out quickly and our server was wonderful!

Legal Sea Foods is a solid choice for an overall good experience. The quality is good, though prices are a little on the high side. It feels touristy, but not a tourist trap. The food is generally excellent, with specific meals like salmon cooked just right, a really great seafood paella, crab cakes, Shrimp Cevechi, Thai chicken lettuce wraps, oysters, little neck clams, lobster bisque, and the lobster roll combo. For dessert, bon bons come in vanilla, chocolate, coffee, or strawberry flavors. The complimentary rolls are the most memorable food. However, the taste can be just average, and food service is sometimes quite slow. The amount of food is pretty good for the price. The waitstaff is attentive, polite, and professional, handling large parties perfectly. One server even remembered guests from a previous visit and managed substitutions with patience. The Somerville venue at Assembly Row is less hectic than downtown locations and easier for a table of 7. Happy hour specials include $1 oysters and .50 cent little necks, with appetizer deals like three for $25 or six for $45. In 40 years of dining, the quality of the food has never been disappointing.
