“Two years ago I switched my allegiance from Haute Coffee in Concord, MA to Nibbana Cafe in Lowell. While the coffee at Haute is indeed very good (Counter Culture beans, not local), I find the staff there a bit impersonal. Seating is also quite limited. Nibbana has equally good coffee (if not better, which is really saying something), provided by Tiny Arms, a local roaster. There is plenty of seating and parking at their location at Western Avenue Studios. The coffee is generally light-to-medium roast and they offer an array of interesting, unusual coffee drinks (I only drink espresso, straight, so I can't comment on those). At the time of this review, they have been cranking out lots of new food items. The staff is extremely friendly, always offering a welcoming smile and an enthusiastic "Enjoy!" when I pick up my order. The owners truly live by what Buddhists call "right living". They are very community-focused, and it shows. If you haven't checked out Nibbana, you're really missing out on a special place.“

“We ate lunch at Himalaya Curry House for the first time this afternoon. We highly recommend. The food was phenomenal-excellent Northern Indian cuisine. (I don’t like Southern Indian cuisine. The prices are very reasonable. The portions are very generous and we both went home with enough left over for another entire meal. I had the Chicken Tikka Masala, basmati rice spiced with Cumin. My daughter had the Black Pepper chicken, same rice and we shared a side of Aloo Gobi cauliflower florets in a spicy, creamy sauce. There was complimentary chutneys (3 different flavors served with pita crackers. My patient’s family is from Northern India and the mom cooks exquisite Indian food. Fed me home made dinner every work night. That is how I was introduced to spectacular Northern Indian food , so I have a good palate for high quality. The atmosphere is average. Our waitress was very friendly and helpful assisting us with our choices. We will definitely go back again to try different entrees. The menu is extensive!“

“My daughter in law’s lovely large Khmer family really wanted to go to this restaurant! We drove from Ny and the other family members flew in from CA and drove from CT. The food was fantastic and quite flavorful. We got a real smorgasbord of various dishes that we all enjoyed. My favorites were the Khmer chicken wings-outstanding crunch and flavor (I like them better than Buffalo wings), and my absolute favorite, lemongrass chicken. Every other dish was amazing, too. The customer service at the location in Malden was excellent, our waitress was so polite, personable, and the right amount of attentive. You think of the basics and then you are fine. This is not high end cuisines. This is good old basics that everyone of any age enjoys. You can go alone and sit at the bar, or go with a groupo and get a booth. This is fine. The menu is extensive so will find something to have from pancakes to waffles to French toast, to chicken and fires. Try an omelets and it is ideal with a good selection to try. \n\nWhatever you select the portion is French. The food is tasty and traditional. The price is ideal. And the staff is excellent. They know what they are doing and how to help.\n\nMarryAnn's Diner is a good change from cooking at home. Try it for breakfast or lunch. The only reason for removing a star is a small but frustrating detail: my wife ordered the French toast, which is pictured with strawberries and bananas. When it arrived, it was just the bread and syrup. We learned you have to pay extra for all the toppings shown in the photo. It felt a bit misleading, though I’m sure it would’ve tasted great with the full fixings.

At $9 it seems like a great deal, but once you add everything shown, it’s more like $13.25 — not quite the same value. Still, a tasty spot with a fun atmosphere. Maybe best to DIY it next time and bring your own strawberries, bananas, and Nutella!“
