“I expected more than corned beef out of a can from the description on the menu. The home fries were cold. Good sized portions and the service was adequate. We chose another breakfast place for the next day. Great location, though, in a walkable neighborhood .“

“An amazing gem in Belmont. I can’t recall ever having a more tender chicken than I had here. The portions for the main dishes are enormous so they’re worth the price. The staff were kind and attentive. I’m looking forward to trying more dishes and I highly recommend Cafe Vanak!
Vegetarian options: The menu offers an impossible version of some dishes and there are grilled veggie options as well.
Parking: There’s a small lot behind the cafe, and street parking seems reasonable.“

“My all time favorite spot for spicy chicken sliders / tenders. Little pricy but It’s worth the taste. In the location I like the ambience and also the food is served hot, at other locations I have experienced serving cold sliders which not worth of enjoying. That’s the reason I drive to this location which is 30 minutes away from my place though I have another location 5 minutes away from my home. So far I might have recommended this place to atleast 50 people and guess what, no one was disappointed with the food. It’s the best best best spicy chicken sliders place which everyone would like to go back again and again. I would suggest not to take out the order you’ll miss the opportunity of enjoying the hot food. Last thing is, there fries are the best.
Vegetarian options: No vegetarian option I am aware of except fries“
“I ordered the dry fried noodles and the small plate chicken. The service was quick (took 10 minutes). The food was nice and I enjoyed the fried noodles more than the chicken plate. It would have been better if the chicken plate had boneless chicken pieces. Quantity was also good but I felt like the price is too high. Overall a decent place that I would probably come back to try the other things on the menu.“

“Excellent! We threw a large retirement party at my office and the retiree requested Indian food. Not too familiar with the cuisine, I called Zam Zam’s and the owner Muhammad invited my fellow party planner and I to a taste testing and helped us plan the menu. The party was a huge success, and everyone complimented the food. It was fresh, delicious and there was the perfect balance between chicken and vegetarian options!“

“They have an amazing and fresh falafel I've ever had in Boston!“

“We usually order from a different Shawarma place in Somerville, but decided to give Sam's a try. The food was very good, and in good sized portions. They were good about following requests to leave things out of the wraps. Note that they do the style with fries on the side rather than in the wrap. My only complaint is that they list some, but not all, of the ingredients on their site. So if you have things you can't eat, I definitely recommend calling them to double check. My partner can't do creamy sauces, and they listed tahini sauce but not garlic sauce in the lamb/beef shawarma, which ended up being a problem. Not a huge thing, just annoying that they make it look like everything is listed when it isn't.“

“I had just missed my flight back home and after 5 hours at the airport things began to look rather grim. I then decided to take a walk and by complete luck happened to use this location as a pickup spot for my Uber. What started as me wanting a small snack then turned into a newfound appreciation for Somali cuisine and an eating experience I will have yet to forget. Tawakal Halal gave me the best food and service in about 14 minutes than other establishments have managed to give me in an hour, so great in fact, that I wouldn’t have forgiven myself if I didn’t go a second time before I left. The food by itself is beyond amazing and I could write a whole review entirely on how great the food is, however, my personal favorites were the Goat Biryani and the Halwa as an excellent dessert option after. In addition to the food, the service here was amazing as well. The staff were always making sure I had everything I needed and doing everything they could to make my experience there a pleasant one, even offering me tea as I waited for my Uber. All in all, the best way I could describe this café to anyone wanting to know more about it is that it is truly everything you could ever ask for in a dining experience: fantastic food and amazing service. It even no longer made me upset that I missed my flight that day for if I hadn’t, I would have never been able to find this gem of a café. Thank you, Tawakal Halal, so much for giving me an experience I will never forget and know that when I return to Boston, you can bet the first stop on my itinerary will be your café. “Amazing traditional Punjabi food. Feels very authentic and the flavors are amazing. Very accommodative on customization. Vegetarian thali is the combo I’ve ever eaten. Their chats are also amazing. Masala Chai is nice. Kind people who serve food with lots of dedication. My go to place when I want to feel good with homely authentic Indian style food. Great presentation of food and genuinely tasty food.
Dietary restrictions: Very accomodative
Kid-friendliness: Yes“

“Food is great. Got a slider, and the chicken was perfectly crispy on the outside while being tender on the inside. Since the food came out promptly, the slaw on the slider did not seep into the bun so it was not soggy at all. The fries are also great, whatever seasoning they put on really does a great job. The workers are super friendly. The facility is much cleaner than other restaurant chains I've been at. Overall 10/10 experience for me. Would recommend the place and food to other people.“

“I didn't have the best experience here recently. The samsa/samosa was chewy and the bread was a bit too thick, but still better than the ones at Jahunger. The dried beef noodles on the other hand were not the best I've had when I ordered takeout. They didn't taste fresh and they stuck together quite a bit, which made me feel like they were cooked earlier in the day.
I've had Ali's separately during an event that catered from their restaurant and found the food to be much better. I don't want to be too harsh given the mix of experiences, but I'd be willing to give them another shot.“

“My family’s favorite pizza! The people there are also always friendly and helpful. My 17 year old said the chicken bacon ranch pizza is the best they have ever had. I love the cheese so much - I know I should also branch out but it really is so good. Also, the salad and their ranch dressing is so good, fresh, and I loved that it had lots of carrot and cucumber slices, and green pepper. Yum!“

“Such a gem! The gentlemen behind the counter were incredibly gracious and a pleasure, and clearly respected evidenced by the many regulars who were greeted like family. The platter was generously portioned and super fresh. Seating is basic yet comfortable and clean. There is a lot of pride and care here!“

“We were craving a hearty falafel sandwich as it’s done the Mediterranean way. My sister have heard of Flafel Corner and suggested we try it coming out of Harvard square. Best decision! Delicious, freshly made, hearty, generous comfort food. Simple no frills setting but super clean with soul. Yaser from Alexandria was the kindest, most welcoming and generous host. We’ll return for many when in the neighborhood.“

“Expected more, especially for the price. The meat was precut, not from the spit, and cold. Putting it on the grill makes the pita bread hard and inelastic but the insides still saty cold. Ordering process was quite chaotic - several people were making the roll ups, switching places, all asking us about the ingredients. At that, two of the three people did not speak English. The size of the roll ups was rather small for $11. Overall, ok but our preference would be to have a less stressful ordering process, warmer meat and cleaner bathroom. For $16-17 a platter, there could also be a waitee, not “fast food approach”.“

“Wow, terrific flavors! We very randomly stumbled into this plain little storefront because a different restaurant in the area had too long a wait. Midday on a Friday and Halal Indian Restaurant was empty of even delivery pickups, so we weren't expecting much... and we changed our order from eat-in to takeout because it was too cold to sit there. I use veg biryani as a barometer, and this did not disappoint! Fresh spices of cinnamon, clove and cardamom were very evident. My mother ordered mushroom palak which was surprisingly addictive -- she says "a joy to eat" . The basmati rice wasn't great (but I've had worse). This chef needs his food to be recognized! Perhaps sprucing up the place with some murals would help draw in the crowds. Eat here!!“

“This Indian food was good . The mango ? Lassi was absolutely delicious. The friendliest people serving the food . I met them at the “ Copley Farmers Market “. Parking ?️ you have the option of looking for meter parking or parking in the garage which is less than 1/2 block and is a reasonable price . The price of the food is good for the quality and portion size .
Parking: Paid parking less the 1/2 a block the price is reasonable. Or you can look for meter parking but it’s a bit difficult .“
