“I tried the Venus Cafe for the first time today for takeout. I ordered a green pepper onion and mushroom pizza. I got there early and got it as soon as he popped it into the box, so there was no time for it to steam in the box. I usually have my dog with me, so that's why I get take-out a lot. A little bit of flop at the beginning due to it being piping hot and loaded with toppings. Tasted great, and the price was good. This place is one of the goats of this style of pizza, ssbp. The only complaint is that they use sliced toppings, not chopped. And that's just a personal preference due to years of thinking I took a clean bite of pizza, and then a chunk of blistering topping comes with it and tags me on the chin. Lol. I went to the takeout side and dealt directly with the cook, and he was very nice. I have no clue about the bar area, but friendly kitchen staff speaks volumes for a place. I'm slowly trying all the places that do this style of pizza in the area, and this one did not disappoint.”

“My husband & I were visiting our daughter in Whitman and decided to try this pub. We had the best time! The food was delicious (shepherd's pie)! Great service & a cozy spot. We loved the live music too (Bob Phillips). My husband felt like he was playing his CD collection! We'll definitely be back.”

“I like my eggs over-medium and they get it right every time because obviously they care. Friendly folks racking up delicious breakfast and adult drink options and KENO. It's magical.Last week I had the 2 eggs/homemade hash plate and a beer and also promptly turned $20 into $3 with my unlucky numbers all in the space of half an hour!Eggs over medium, booze & gambling.What more do you need?”

“I have been going to this Papa Gino's since I was in high school. It is always good food. The service is always friendly and very helpful to me. The last time I was in though I had to grab my own receipt from the printer though, it was kind of a weird experience. It was just weird because the angle that I tore it from over the counter, I could have clogged the machine. Anyways, it's nothing to lose points over. I still frequently eat here.”

“My husband and I come here all the time. The hours are somewhat limited, but they're a growing local business. The beer and staff are great. It's dog friendly and an all around great atmosphere. It's a nice spot to watch a game, and enjoy a high quality beer. If your on the south shore, stop by. You won't regret it!”

“Ordered the chicken cutlet over spaghetti with marinara and cheese, and it far exceeded my expectations! Handbreaded crispy cutlet, tasty homemade marinara, great flavor on the cheese melted over the dish and a huge portion and garlic bread on the side to boot. A great spot for a hot, tasty, well made, great value comfort food meal. Will be back!”
