When my friend planned a going away dinner here, I reached out via email asking if it was possible for them to accommodate me. They wrote back an extremely kind response saying they were looking forward to hosting me- that really made my day. “With a party of 4 we arrived at Cityside to have our last meal before flying back to the UK after 4 weeks in New England and Canada.
The Farmers Market Brunch bowl and Maple and Cinnamon pancakes were to die for.
I must give credit to our server too. Izzy is outstanding. Cheerful chatty efficient and knowledgeable. She was a joy and both the food and Izzy left a lasting impression of a fab 4 weeks and beautiful Boston.“

“Man! I made the huge mistake of going to a different bar, and I'm on my way to the one and only Joe Sent Me of Cambridge.

This bar is like Cheers. Everyone knows your name! Not just the bartenders, but even the regulars.

I stumbled into this bar about 6 months ago and have been coming 2-3 times a week. I usually get their quesadilla, wings, or anything on the sat brunch (can't go wrong on that menu).

I left for about 2 months on vacation and when I returned the Owmer, Sandy shook my hand and asked where I had been! I felt very appreciated and welcomed. Jen & Steph are great bartenders and will remember your drink after two visits or less!

I don't leave bad reviews, but I will definitely not be going back to that other bar.

“What the menu lacks in variety, it makes up for in quality. We had the kebabs, chips & salsa and the chicken sandwich, and every single one blew away our expectations. Flavors were complex and robust, food perfectly prepared, and the worst part of the meal was when the decent portions were gone.

Service was fantastic. The atmosphere was exactly what we wanted after a 7.5hr car ride in dense New England traffic, and truly, this nerd-bar scratched every itch after a long, stressful day.“

“If it's crowded expect to wait a long time for your food. My food actually came out before my drinks did. I was told the bar was backed up but when I looked there was no one there. My waiter was new which I held space for but she was little forgetful and would forget to. Ome back to our table. Again she was new and it was her first day not in training. She was super nice and sweet.

Parking: If you can find parking on the street for free good luck.“

“I was hoping to order a la carte, but my only option was the breakfast buffet. Our waiter was less than enthusiastic. The buffet was well stocked and the lady who made my omelette was sweet and she did a nice job. Bananas Foster were yummy. I think we got there at a good time. It was quiet. I would hate to be there when it gets busy. It was ok, but I wish it had been a tad cheaper for what it was.“

“Best Mexican, Salvadorean and Guatemalan food I've had so far within a hour radius. We got the fajita tejanas and the gordita (pollo) very flavorful, meats were soft and butter like, good cuts. Tortillas are homemade. I was the only white person here which is a sign that it's authentic or close to it. Will be dreaming of this. Seems like they have dancing at some point, and they have two bars. Great portions.

“Started off as a dream but turned into a nightmare. 1st 2 nights here were great until the hotel decided to book a large group of what appeared to be pre-teens and placed them all on the 9th floor. They constantly run the halls, slamming doors, and talking loudly. On the 1st night that I complained to the front desk, the young lady that assisted me was very sympathetic and payed for dinner for both myself and my 2 team mates. The noise however continued well after midnight. Because of her kindness and apologies, I did not complain and I hoped that tomorrow would be different. Boy was I wrong! Tonight was even worst. It started with the kids playing with the elevator causing a long line in the lobby. They continued to go up and down in the elevator. Whenever it stopped and the doors opened, they would laugh and press the button and go down again, it was full so no one else could get on. This continued to happened until another adult told them to stop playing and kicked them off having to force his way through the closing doors. Noise was even worst. I called the front desk 3 times and all the person that answered said was she'd let her manager know. On the 3rd time I called, she hung the phone up in ny face. Which is why I'm now doing this review after 11:12pm. I can't sleep!!! I'm only a few nights away from achieving Titanium Status, however I am Diamond with Hilton. (Hilton would not have allowed thisto happen)Considering how I was treated and the fact that this hotel would allow a group of kids to take over is why I definitely would not recommend it. This has by far been the worst experience that I have ever had at a hotel. Please take your business elsewhere!“

“I was really surprised at how good our food was at a casual hotel restaurant! The clam chowder rivals anywhere, which is a real statement in the Boston area, but it's true! Otherwise, we shared chicken wings which I thought were fine (but my guest called them out as better than Buffalo Wild Wings, for the record.) I don't know if I'd say Riverbend Grille is worth a special trip, but it's well worth consideration if you're passing through the area and certainly if you're staying at Marriott Boston Newton.“
