“Decided to walk through Allston on a grody, misty afternoon and look for some food. Walked in by chance and at my SO’s insistence that we give it a look. I loved everything about the aesthetic, and enjoyed the soft music playing in the background. Being able to choose the ingredients I wanted - knowing they were organic and that they looked more than delicious raw...that was the absolute best part. The gentleman at the front was supremely helpful and answered any question thrown at him - by anyone in the shop. The price was more than worth the amount of food received, and the care extended to us as guests was wonderful. I absolutely would recommend anyone to give this a try. Don’t hesitate to ask a question, you will definitely get an answer. :)“

“Oh where do I start...The staff is friendly, attentive, and goes above and beyond to ensure a memorable dining experience. Kudos to the entire team.The food here is absolutely delicious! Every dish we tried was bursting with flavor and cooked to perfection. Highly recommend the Cuban sandwich...I played the worst round of golf last weekend and went here for lunch.....this place was a hole in one !!!!....rooooooaaaaaarrrrrrre !!!!!!“

“I took a trip to this restaurant for my 80+ Neighbor and also my teen Daughter. The Atmosphere is your typical Arlington, Mass ave fast food place. A few seats, not a huge seating area, yet there is seating. It's a no frills type of place, the license plate decorations definitely add to the BBQ traditional atmosphere if you are eatting at one of the tables.
Both my Neighbor and Daughter raved about the meat! My Neighbor said the Ribs were the best she has had since she moved to New England. (She is from Georgia) Also my Daughter was very impressed with the Brisket. She said it was flavored perfectly, not to much smoke, just right. She said the sauce was not too sweet or overly hot spicy yet great flavor (I ordered her the Gold sauce). She said the meat was not dry or gristle covered, she said the marbling and cooking were on point!
I did not order for myself, because I haven't eaten meat in a long time, yet my Daughter insisted I try her side dishes. They were OK. Slight smoky flavor in the vinegar style southern potatoe salad, and the mashed potatoes were seasoned pleasantly with butter and garlic.
The staff were not the most knowledgeable or best at communicating with each other, However they were polite, which is a must for any BBQ place.
They made a slight mistake by forgetting my neighbors cornbread and that the orders needed to be in seperate bags. (Communication issue between staff most likely.)
When I asked for the cornbread one of the staff members wanted me to give him back my Daughter's order so he could take the cornbread out of it.
That's a No, No.
First off we paid for a second cornbread seperate for my neighbor. Also you never take a plate back from a customer to move food off a plated and served order. Food safety 101 and also Mass law. No cross contamination please. Also even though it's line style serving, you can't see them plateing which I do not like when I eat somewhere.
My Daughter told me I better not take stars off this review because her food was Awesome Sauce.
If you like meat, and you want southern style BBQ while your in the area, this place has what your looking for.“

“We went looking for Barbecue International and found out it was changed to Himalayan Kitchen. First timers and we ran into the owner who was super nice. We had the chicken pakoras, chicken tika masala lunch, garlic naan and beef chilli. Honestly favorite restaurant in Somerville now, definitely going to be regulars here. Everything was spiced perfectly and was amazing. 10/10 perfect comfort food and also good day food. Really happy we stopped by.“

“The pork quesodilla WOW, subtle sweetness, great crunch, gooey cheese. Key lime pie AMAZING not to tart, firm texture. The server Bea. Was so NICE and generous. You can play Mario kart at the bar!!! “Great for mala (dry) and for other shareable plates. Their large dish can definitely be split between 3 or so people. Would highly recommend recommend if you’re in the area and craving something spicy. Parking is of course very difficult to find, but not unusual for the area.“

“Service was awful we got our drink ordered a appetizer and was asked if we wanted bread we said yes couple of minutes she returned with the bread 20 minutes goes by I flagged her down and asked about the appetizer she said it should be ready Ya no kidding she finally brought it out and took our order. 30 minutes before my wife’s food came out nothing for me for another 10 minutes my wife was halfway done. Your only as good as your help“

“I like the dining experience because it was a birthday, but when it gets busy, the staff gets too occupied and your simple request like rice (like when I did) never came. Make sure to check for how fresh the meat is because my family had some expiring meat or meat left out too long and got sick from it. Otherwise it’s a good time.“

“I never believed my life will change in such a manner. “I've been going to Simards for 20+ years and prefer it to other local roast beef places because they remain friendly and affordable despite the changing times. The drive thru sign needs major renovations (like lights) but I don't come for a drive thru sign I come for a decent roast beef sando with fries and a drink. There is always someone friendly working the window and the cost does not break the bank like a similar places like this.“
