The Mercantile Reviews
Atmosphere - great, very urbane busy but, quiet enough for conversation Server - Paige; delightful and attentive Wine- serving is too generous but, that is reflected in the $14 per glass price Salads- crispy, fresh lettuce & generous serving Pizza- Margarita; disappointing; melted cheese on dough. Where was the basil and where was the sauce? Brownie Sundae-spectacular I’ll be back if the pizza can be made correctly.
It's National Oyster Day & I'm hooked on The Mercantile's offer of $1 oysters with strawberry mignonette from 4-6, Monday to Thursday, is unbeatable. I also devoured their goat cheese bites, crispy broccoli, & boom boom shrimp, all incredible appetizers. My friends' mac & cheese with buffalo shrimp & lobster fettuccine were insane. To top it off Claire, our waitress, was absolute perfection. Back to the mac & cheese - top tier!

The Mercantile remains a popular weekend destination celebrated for its chill and welcoming vibe. The food and drinks continue to receive praise, with dishes like fish tacos, burrata salad with shrimp, and Summer Rosé Sangria highlighted in reviews. Guests appreciate the friendly staff and their great service, contributing to a pleasant setting. The restaurant features a comfortably elegant and homey atmosphere, including seating options on the second floor near the outdoor patio, which often showcases live music that enhances the ambiance. The food is solid, with items like dry rub wings, pretzels, salmon entree, and smash burger receiving positive feedback. The house margarita is also favored.
While several guests have noted that the service can vary, some have experienced outstanding service from the waitstaff, such as Xavier, who was attentive and thorough during a large group dining experience. Others, however, mentioned slow bar service and a lack of pre-dinner bread rolls, which left some disappointed. The restaurant’s cozy ambiance can sometimes lead to tight seating arrangements, especially in smaller booths. It serves as a good spot for a relaxed meal before or after events, with reasonable prices making it a popular choice among locals and visitors alike. Overall, the experience is often marked by the friendly staff, with some reviews indicating that customer service can be inconsistent.
