The pristine service, the delicious entrees with high quality ingredients and culinary skills, and the cozy atmosphere of a 100 year plus home was amazing. We wished for nothing more. Leave the bustle of the city …. Come home…. To the Gates. You will not be disappointed.”

“This has got to be the tastiest Chinese food I’ve ever had, it wasn’t overly salty or spicy or oily, it was just delicious! We ordered the Family dinner for 5, then added Shrimp Chow Mein and Ginger Beef, every dish was a hit! There were 6 of us, I’m sure 10 people could have easily been fed with the amount of leftovers we had! The owner was very friendly, will definitely be our only pick for Chinese takeout in the future 👍”

“Ordered the steak on garlic bread and sautéed mushrooms. Came with shoestring fries. Asked for side of gravy. Spiced the meal to my liking. Service was good, though wasn’t asked at any point how my food was, tasted or if it was acceptable. Overall, it’s a sporty fun looking place to eat, and the food does appear quite appealing and flavourful. 3 out of 5 stars today.”

“Staff is always friendly and food is always fresh when I come. Staff remember me when I come in as “the onion guy” cuz I always get a pile of onions and triple toast! They let me load up my sandwich and don’t skimp on toppings, always leaving my large appetite satisfied! Usually come in with my young kids and staff is always kind, actually communicate with them and listen to their sandwich building instructions. One of my favourite places to eat and get good value for the dollar”

“Great amazing coffee - best beans at a great price. Love the San Fran blend. We've been buying for 5 kg bags for the last 6 years and have not found a comparable bean for a better price.In response to the lower reviews - Sunstone is a small business and the owner sells primarily to businesses but permits the general public to purchase beans when he is available. The owner is very friendly and tries his best to accommodate the public but we are neither his primary clientele nor his main source of income. I am not the owner or a relative but have deep respect for capacity restrictions of small business owners.”

“Came here for a birthday party. Literally every table in the place seemed to be reserved, so it was very busy. Service was understandably a bit delayed due to how busy it was.

Food was good. I had wings. My husband had pizza.

After we ate, we played pool. They have 2 tables available for $2 a game, which isn't bad compared to most places. Was a fun time until the music became deafening -- then we could no longer hear ourselves / those around us. We left soon after.

Would come back for wing night or something sometime, but would probably leave again before the deafening music.

“Best fried chicken in Winnipeg. The food is delicious and the customer service goes above and beyond. Soma was such a great help and so kind to us. With service like this, I will be going here more often for my lunch breaks.

We tried ordering Delta Minis and Spicy Sandwich on Uber (for some reason Popeyes refuses to add it to the menu). We called the location and Soma picked up the phone. She sorted the entire issue out so that we get all the items on our order on her behalf. She was kind enough and didnt panick when prepping our order. She took full ownership and provided an excellent solution. Thank you Soma for everything.”

“Great Lil' Spot to Get some Good Grub. The Beef Dip was absolutely amazing on the Foccoscia bread BUT it's too soft for the Au Jus (just falls apart in a soggy mess and hard to handle) Definitely recommend toasting the bread longer and the Pierogies less (but that's just my opinion) They're a lil' hard on the teefers and like mine just slightly fried. Garlic Parm fries were a Unique upgrade but lacking Garlic Flavor & Value. Would be amazing vs ok with a Pinch more Parm. Atmosphere was Modern,Upgraded, and CLEAN. Loved the Huge Ferns and Cafe' aesthetic. Great Service!!! Drinks always Full. Would definitely come back to try other menu items. Menu has lots to Offer.”

“Love, love, love, their burgers! They are best eaten fresh in the restaurant. If you take out or get delivery they are good but the buns have absorbed some of the burger juice and tend to fall apart. Their fries are delicious, crispy and so fresh! They are always so generous with servings that a small is plenty for 2 of us!”

“It's the best sushi restaurant in St. James. They make great rice, fresh ingredients, and nice staff. Small quite little place. I read some weird reviews, and all our orders and sushi have always been good.
