The pristine service, the delicious entrees with high quality ingredients and culinary skills, and the cozy atmosphere of a 100 year plus home was amazing. We wished for nothing more. Leave the bustle of the city …. Come home…. To the Gates. You will not be disappointed.”

“This has got to be the tastiest Chinese food I’ve ever had, it wasn’t overly salty or spicy or oily, it was just delicious! We ordered the Family dinner for 5, then added Shrimp Chow Mein and Ginger Beef, every dish was a hit! There were 6 of us, I’m sure 10 people could have easily been fed with the amount of leftovers we had! The owner was very friendly, will definitely be our only pick for Chinese takeout in the future 👍”

“Ordered the steak on garlic bread and sautéed mushrooms. Came with shoestring fries. Asked for side of gravy. Spiced the meal to my liking. Service was good, though wasn’t asked at any point how my food was, tasted or if it was acceptable. Overall, it’s a sporty fun looking place to eat, and the food does appear quite appealing and flavourful. 3 out of 5 stars today.”

I have had many extremely good dining experiences… & many places are hard to please my expectations…. but Ben the worker at this subway in headingley made my experience a core memory of how good, quick, & efficient he was at handling me & 3 other people’s orders all by himself. I definitely would recommend this place if Ben is working!!!”

“I've come here a handful of times, bringing a new crowd each time and everytime is as great as the last, food is delicious and hot!.. have to say, some the best fast food wings there are!!”

“Came here for a birthday party. Literally every table in the place seemed to be reserved, so it was very busy. Service was understandably a bit delayed due to how busy it was.

Food was good. I had wings. My husband had pizza.

After we ate, we played pool. They have 2 tables available for $2 a game, which isn't bad compared to most places. Was a fun time until the music became deafening -- then we could no longer hear ourselves / those around us. We left soon after.

Would come back for wing night or something sometime, but would probably leave again before the deafening music.

“Great Lil' Spot to Get some Good Grub. The Beef Dip was absolutely amazing on the Foccoscia bread BUT it's too soft for the Au Jus (just falls apart in a soggy mess and hard to handle) Definitely recommend toasting the bread longer and the Pierogies less (but that's just my opinion) They're a lil' hard on the teefers and like mine just slightly fried. Garlic Parm fries were a Unique upgrade but lacking Garlic Flavor & Value. Would be amazing vs ok with a Pinch more Parm. Atmosphere was Modern,Upgraded, and CLEAN. Loved the Huge Ferns and Cafe' aesthetic. Great Service!!! Drinks always Full. Would definitely come back to try other menu items. Menu has lots to Offer.”

“Love, love, love, their burgers! They are best eaten fresh in the restaurant. If you take out or get delivery they are good but the buns have absorbed some of the burger juice and tend to fall apart. Their fries are delicious, crispy and so fresh! They are always so generous with servings that a small is plenty for 2 of us!”

Opened my bags, they sent the pizza and our 12 pcs of chicken, but the fries, gravy and buns were missing, and the chicken was greasy, think they picked it up at Chicken Chef on Dale Blvd, never had any problems from the one on Portage Ave, always been good, anyway, called them back and told them what we were missing, we didn't want to wait for an hour for the missing order, so they refunded my 70.oo, which was great, they made great..”

“It's our go-to restaurant for a quick bite when we are at the new place. We do online orders for pickup, quick and easy. The app sometimes is a challenge to find deals. Since the construction on Portage it might be difficult to go for a quick stop, You need to turn right on Doods Street and access parking from the back.”

“We have enjoyed their service since 2007 when at that time they were known as the " Polynesian restaurant ". We enjoy the szechuan soup, deep fried shrimp and honey garlic sauce, steam veggies, spring rolls and plum sauce. I think it really depends on your particular tastes or palate.”
