“We really liked this place, great atmosphere and service. The Shepherds Pie got high marks; both the beef and the Mac and Cheese variants. My wife, the vegetarian, loved her choice of the Irish Boxty. Desserts drew differing opinions. The chocolate mousse was among the best we ever tried, my buddy and his wife did not care for the Guinness cake. I had the bread pudding, and I really liked it (to be fair bread pudding is one of my favorites). This was a nice example sufficiently dense, with raisins, and a custard topping, as a bonus it was a good size for dessert (I find too many places serve you something the size of an entree). My friend was not as impressed as I was, but bread pudding isn't his thing. All in all my wife and I will be back for more! Final note the dry cider is excellent, it went well with the shepherds pie, and is put it up against Strongbow any day of the week.“

“I have been a patron at McGarvey's for years. I love your food and service. However, first time I have a complaint. I was anxious to try the crab balls, as pictured in your menu. Although they weren't horrible, they looked nothing like the picture on your menu, very disappointed. I expected pieces of white crab meat and we got very crusted, fried little round balls. I bragged to my grandson about the picture on your menu and it was certainly not what we got. I must say, it is the first thing I have been disappointed with. Either change the picture or take them off your menu.“

“when they have special events they apparently don't tell their staff the rules and no one knows anything. apparently you aren't allowed to take a diet coke to go but they don't have a trash can by the door so you just stand there like an idiot until one of the staff pays enough attention to take it from you. save the trouble and just go on a normal night“
