Restaurante Tio Pepe is a Baltimore icon since the 1980s, known for its outstanding food and service. The wait staff in tuxedos ensures a friendly and generous dining experience, with large portions that may require take-home boxes. Popular dishes like Tournedos de Tio Pepe, Merluza Negra a las alcaparras, and flan al carmelo are highly recommended. Customers often enjoy the salmon and shrimp appetizers, as well as lobster and steak entrees, always complemented by a huge pitcher of red sangria. The restaurant is perfect for big tables and private parties but may get noisy on weekends. While not very kid-friendly, Restaurante Tio Pepe offers a delightful sangria that pairs well with the meal. The crème brûlée is also noted as the best many have ever had. However, some guests have experienced less than friendly service from certain staff members. For a smooth visit, it's advisable to call ahead for reservations and utilize the parking garage across the street.
