“We loved Jaleo and we think Jose Andres is wonderful - all his other restaurants and his humanitarian work-- but unfortunately we didn't love the food at Spanish Diner (apart from the croquettes & bread). It might just be that Continental/Spanish food is generally not to my taste. The gazpacho had cream and a slight bitter note; I prefer the tomato-colored light refreshing gazpacho that I've had elsewhere. The garbanzo and spinach stew was only okay, a bit bland; I plan to add spices to the portion I brought home. The other dish we ordered - roasted chicken - also didn't pop. The preparation of the food was well done; we just wanted more flavor. On the other hand, service was spot on and the atmosphere is nice.“
“Next time you're over in Eastern Market check this place out!!! Lovely happy hours and brunches! For happy hours, I had tortilla de patatas, jamon serrano, gambas al ajillo... all were delicious and fresh! The gambas had some extra charred garlic that I enjoyed putting on bread with some of the delicious olive oil that was in the dish. The brunch was stunning and was a great addition to our day at Eastern Market! Some highlights were house made ravioli that were to die for, white sangria, croquetas... It's right around the corner from the main strip of Eastern Market on Penn Ave. so a bit hidden but worth a try!“
“I really liked everything about this place. Food was fancy/good but still fairly affordable (about ~$40/person for lunch). Our waiter was just such a delight, I don't remember his name (I wish I did) but he was friendly and funny ?♥️“
“The clams were amazing! All of the food is super fresh and delicious! The atmosphere is amazing and the dancing is incredible! The service is great and everyone is so nice! Definitely recommend, the food is very authentic and is to die for!“
“I really enjoyed my time here. I was craving a little bit of Madrid and while trying to find a restaurant, I stumbled upon this place just a few minutes from my hotel.Right from the first encounter with the manager as I walked in, I knew I was going to like this place.Cristiano and Cristian behind the bar were great. The recommended all those amazing plates. I ended up doing a paella tapa as well as the Argentinian steak with chimichurri paired with a lovely Malbec.Remember, these are tapas, so the plates wont be giant. A couple of plates should get you to where you’d like. And the prices are very reasonable.I definitely recommend this place. I can’t wait to be back in Arlington so that I can go back and see my peeps. I made friends with the staff that night. They were truly one of the best restaurant staffs out there. Thanks Sabores team for a great first encounter!Parking: They share a parking garage with the apartment building. You can get your parking ticket validated by the staff before you leave. However, the first hour in the garage is FREE“
“Fantastic venue, excellent cuisine, wonderful staff, beautiful view of the water on the Wharf. Best part was our server Nam, funny, fun, professional, knowledgeable and overall excellent person to have at a restaurant like this. He made my birthday night extra special! Cannot wait to be back!“
“We stopped in on a busy Saturday without a reservation. The staff worked hard to squeeze our party of four in at the chef’s counter and we were seated within five minutes of our arrival. We were so grateful! The food and drinks were awesome and it was really fun to watch the kitchen work. Lots of menu options for the vegetarians in our group. Can’t say enough good things about the experience - great food, terrific service, fun atmosphere. Will keep this restaurant on our short list!“
“It sounds like you had a fantastic experience at the bar! Friendly service, tasty drinks, delicious appetizers, and an inviting atmosphere definitely make it worth recommending. It's always a good sign when a place leaves you wanting to come back for more!“
“I met friends for brunch here on Saturday. Shoutout to Lisa, our server, who was fantastic! We all ordered bottomless beverages and she was quick with the refills. The sangria was the best though the bottomless drinks offered included mimosas and bloody Mary’s.There aren’t many places for brunch in Montgomery county and I’m so glad we dined at this one. We will be back!Parking: This is close to a Safeway though it’s probably not welcome to park there. I took the bus and walked from 355 which was 9 minutes - plenty of street parking if you are OK walking“
“If I lived nearby I would be tempted to selfishly hoard this tiny gem for myself, but given that I don't visit often, I'll share the love:I stumbled upon Nido while looking to kill some time between two sets of plans in the area and am SO glad I did! Thea was such a delight, the products were well curated, and the recommendations were super thoughtful. The "half pours" of wine, the Basque cheesecake, the goodies to go... what was intended as a pit stop became the highlight of my day.Thank you Thea!“
“Don’t let Atxondo’s modest looks deceive you. I was skeptical but some friends wanted to try this place so I went along. I was very pleasantly surprised. We ate vegetarian and everything was excellent. I can recommend the brussel sprouts, tortilla española, crispy potatoes, coliflor, golden beets, fried shishitos, and risotto. I almost forgot to mention the interesting drink menu and the best flan I’ve ever had. Service was great too. Go with a group so you can try everything!“
“Guys - if you like cider even a little bit, you have to come here. The cider is dry, flavorful, and delicious (without random sugar added). The atmosphere is hip, the lights are ambient, and Liz is (out of this world) attentive to all your food and beverage needs. COME GET ANXO! PS - you can bring your friendly dogs too.“
“The most delicious restaurant in the United States. Delicious, delicious, delicious, and the manager is very classy. He helped me choose halal dishes without forbidden meat or alcohol. A wonderful experience, and I hope I will break my fast there tomorrow too, in Morocco (Ramadan). The only drawback is that it is expensive..“
“We picked this place because we were really hungry and it was close to the route we'd chosen to take north from DC (a less hectic and more scenic alternative to Interstate 95).For once Google reviews didn't fail us -- the raves are spot on. The food is made in house (even salsas, which are good enough to be bottled and sold in upscale stores.) Watching meals being prepared is inspiring; the care taken to assemble each order is impressive. (The guacamole is made fresh for each one.)But it's worth the short wait -- the food is delicious. Our burritos were massive and stuffed not with filler but things you really want to eat. We lived in California for years; it could be the best we've ever eaten. It may be in a gas station but there's a table right there if you want to eat in (as we did) and a clean rest room close by. Who cares about atmo when you're on a long drive?Next time we'll pick the route so we can eat there again!“
“Very fast and friendly service. The Manachego and Serrano croquetas were delicious. Also tried eggplant caponatta, pork pinxos, the Spanish tortilla and the mini churros. All delicious. Our servers were very courteous. This is the second location I visit (Philadelphia in 2022) and still very happy about this place.“
“Really A+ service here, helped us assemble meal kits and took an incredible amount of time with us in addition to serving us a delicious lunch. Really terrific establishment.Kid-friendliness: They were very accommodating to our 8-month old.“
“An absolute lovely experience at Barcelona Wine Bar. The floor to ceiling windows, the lighting, the ambiance, the food options, the tapas, the beverages, the service… everything was top tier and wonderful. I highly recommend the beef empanadas, grilled chicken, olive oil pancakes, patatas, and paella. My lovely spouse and I enjoyed a mid day date here and had Bernardo & Sydney as servers who were more than accommodating and helpful. The recommendations exceeded our expectations and now we’re full and ready for a nap. Bring your loved ones here or anyone you’d love to impress. You won’t regret it!“
“A Mexican restaurant with some surprises. One of us got cajun jambalaya. Not Mexican. Not bad. I wasn't looking for a touch of New Orleans, but they nailed the sauce, with chicken and shrimp cooked just right. Our other dishes were traditional: shrimp fajitas and chicken fajitas. Again properly cooked and seasoned. Plenty of components to add into the tortilla wrapper. We finished with tres leches dessert. Moist and sweet as it was designed. Is 4 stars harsh? I based it on other Mexican restaurants that are on this level. For 5 stars, I needed them to be a cut above.“
“Excellent, attentive, and friendly service! Food was very good but a little oily for many dishes I tried. Their tables are way too small for tapas, as of course you order multiple dishes. We were completely out of space to put the food. I also dislike when restaurants have all high top tables with high stools - not comfy to balance on, especially if you're not a small person.“
“This three level restaurant is what it claims to be.We went for our anniversary and we're sceptical about a meal that is $1000 plus but for a foodie, it's an experience that is worth the steep price.Chef Lledo's food is artfully plated and every bite is was delicious. The food is thoughtfully prepared with each bite bringing a wonderful harmony of flavor. From sauce to the star of the plate, the combination of flavors was complimentary. We also found that the progression from course to course to be absolutely wonderful.Being as all of the food is prepared over an open flame, each dish has that pleasant, smoky flavor. The Spanish influence also creates an unexpected change to each dish served. With the addition of wine, each glass or bottle's region and flavor profile is expertly explained.Nothing that happens in the dining room happens by accident. We were there for their Valentine's Day menu, all of our courses were set, the only choice we had to make was which wines we'd like to enjoy with our meal. Each meal was accompanied by a playing card which were, of course, all hearts. From the ace to the six, each card explains each dish and where the influence comes from.We had one issue with our courses, skipping the two of hearts proceeding to the three. I should explain, this IS NOT staffed by waiters. Each person in the dining room may as well be a manager that is determined to make your dinner the best it can be.But I digress, as our courses were discovered to be out of order by one of their staff, the incredible Kathy, the erroy immediately corrected and we were brought the appropriate plate. From that point on, Kathy became our guardian, ensuring everything from that point on was absolutely perfect.Kathy is an asset to Xiquet's staff who went far beyond anything that we could have imagined. If you meet Kathy when you visit, please, please know that you are in the best possible hands. The restaurant has three floors with their greeting area on the first. Their second floor, which they refer to as the mezzanine, houses their bar. A nicely appointed, intimate space that's perfect for that cocktail before dinner or a nice place to settle after your meal. The third floor houses the dining room. As soon as you enter, you are face to face with the beautiful kitchen filled with an excellent chef team. We were served a wonderful little bite at the window and seated after. The dining room is small with seven tables wrapped around the wine service station. Six of the tables seat four people and one table, which sits right up against the kitchen. The noise level was fairly high but you could still hear the person seated across the table from you.If you want to spend a large amount of money on a meal, this would be a great place to go. I do know, at least for us, this will be a fairly rare stop.“
“This is my favorite restaurant in the DMV. Food is always amazing as well as their frozen margaritas. The atmosphere is always beautiful. Candles and fresh flowers on every table for dinner. We drive 50 minutes just to go here. If you've never been I'd highly suggest going asap!“
“We love the food here. There are many good options although we often go back to same ones because they are so good - Montaditos, Buey al Jerez, patatas bravas, esparragos, chuleta, veiras, to name just a few. With the great choices even the younger members of the family find food they love. And the staff is very friendly and welcoming. We've eaten here for many years and will continue to do so!“
“5 stars should stand for superb. really fantastic food especially given the low price point. juicy steaks, yummy cream sauces to balance the heat of their dishes. incredible corn tamales. i've never been in person but ordered from them via uber eats dozens of times. support them!“
“We walked into this unassuming neighborhood restaurant in Bethesda after seeing rather positive reviews, and walked out pleasantly surprised. The food was delicious, flavorful, but not overwhelmingly seasoned. We loved most of our dishes especially the seafood saffron soup, sautéed shrimp with garlic, octopus, grilled squid, stuffed Portobello mushrooms. Lovely desserts got the flan con naranja and the chocolate mousse cake. Highly recommended.“
